When I create a show instance, the installation via TIM fails.

Update: the installation of 12.0alpha fails - the installation of 12.x works well.

Cannot show 12.0alpha, because show fails. Sucks.

When I run sh setup.sh on a fresh svn install on a fresh server, I get an endless loop of errors even though the error message claims that it is retrying __“for a few times.”__

That used to work in 6.x at least.

short links indicating tab number do not work anymore after upgrade from 9.x to 12.x.

I am routinely setting up show instances.

Going through 1st login password change / set is a pain.

show.tiki.org are not properly initialized and completely broken.

Just loading up tiki.sql is not a valid way to initialize a database.

Use the command line tools to create clean installs so that the schema tables are properly initialized, otherwise, it will attempt to install all patches on first run, and break everything, badly.

Maybe there should be a switch in the code so this only activates on *.show.tikiwiki.org and *.show.tiki.org ?

Being able to update a show instance to latest Trunk HEAD if the version is Trunk would be very helpful when trying to verify a fix.

e.g.

* Bug is reported
* Trunk Show instance is created with all the data and bug is confirmed
* Developer fixes the bug and commits in SVN
* How can we verify the fix without destroying the show instance and starting all over again?

So if we want to check if an issue is resolved, we need a way to clone the instance and to upgrade to the latest revision of the same or later branch.

Idea 1: A fresh install should be with u: admin p: 12345

Pros:
* Saves time
* Increases chance that contributors will know the admin password

Cons
* What if we want to test initial password changing? (It's an edge case)

Idea 2: From the show.tiki.org tracker field, there should be a way to reset the password (for registered accounts)

Pros:
* So if password was changed, any user can access the Tiki and help with configuration

Cons:
* What if someone purposely wants the admin password not to be accessible?
** Maybe reset password to admin/12345 should also provoke a snapshot?
