Have an issue which is not consistent across all of my trackers, but appears in those most recent, ie. within last year. Although the View all trackers lists all items, when an individual tracker item is selected, nothing is showing on the view tab, but you can see the information when selecting the edit tab. Please help since we have invested much time and effort in this project, believing Tiki could filter rightly wiki pages based on perms, and since I cannot find a workaround.

When not logged in, Some wiki pages are shown, and Some others Not, while they all have exactly the same set up. They all have been categorized only in "Public Content" category which is set to Show wikis to Anonymous users, while Global perms are set to not show them to anonymous.

At this moment we have two identical wiki pages as setup is concerned:
1) http://mi.solcentral.org/tiki-index.php?page=La+Funci%C3%B3n+Esencial+y+El+Prop%C3%B3sito+de+Vida
which doesn´t show to Anonymous users (and should do it)

and

which shows well.
Note that at the botton of this page, in the listing of pages related to the category "Contenido Público" (which is the translation of "Public content"), the page "The Esential Function And Life's Purpose" (wich is the translation of "La Función Esencial y El Propósito de Vida") that is the page 1)... Then if you click on it, it will not show presenting you with the login invitation, allthough is shown in the list as categorized "Public Content".

Other extraneous behavior is that when when you use the Plugin Toc to show the structure, only shows Some wikis on some structures, and on some other structures doesn´t show any wiki.

Fixes tried:

Have tried the opposite: allowing everything to be shown to Anonymous, and then restrict on pages that should be hidden with a "invisible" category with perms tiki_p_view OFF for anonymous group.

And it didn´t work since - again - for Some wikis worked, and for some others not. Even if they are identical.

The name 'Tracker Tabular' does not mean anything to non-IT people.
I still can't figure out why it is called this, it is confusing.

This bug affects Trackers when mirrortables are turned ON. It occurs with explicit names on or off.

Column headings in trackers disappear in tiki-view_tracker after a few columns when user has non-administrative permissions. This means any privs that are less than tracker-admin. The column headings table is drawn succesfully for a few columns, but then disappears, along with the column names, in the rightmost columns.

We have a nice comparison for wiki, spreadsheet, etc. but not yet something nice for images.

DokuWiki has a nice "Shine-through" and "Swipe" diff views of images

1. Can't use categories as I have too many subcategories and it is a very long list;
2. Is it possible with trackers to have some nested dropdowns, but in the end with automatic asignments? For example Hardware, Software, depending on what you choose to be able to select PC, Notes in the first case (Hardware) and OS, Office in the second (Software); but also in the same form AFTER the selection, after the second selection in fact to automatically complete a text field (time in hours to complete) and a user field (to whom the job is automatically assigned)

I attempted to configure tikiwiki to use PEAR:Auth authentication posted by this link http://doc.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=Login%20Config.

However, I still get error "invalid username or password". Is there any way I can debug this?

My installed PHP version 4.4.6 with PEAR:Auth installed.
My Apache version 2.0.59 configured with LDAP.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

((doc:Admin Wizard|Configuration wizard)) doesn't seem to save changed prefs. I've been recently warned about a new tiki admin unable to enable structures, that he needed for a knowledge base with tiki.

He was using the configuration wizard, going to wiki, tick "Structures", click at "Save and Continue", but when going back through the button "Back", or going to the control panel Wiki and review structures there, they where not enabled indeed.

I was able to reproduce this bug in recents (git based) Tiki 22, Tiki 23 and Tiki master. However, the feature seems to work as expected in Tiki 21 LTS.

It has been reproduced in branch master in a show instance:

Today I have fought with a stubborn error in the output of my tools that extract and process the contents of tra() clauses. I could not find out what on earth changed key/value pairs, until I found an astonishing explanation: It's a bug, no, actually a feature of PHP that I didn't think of, and I believe also the devs who constructed Tikis tra() logic.
Basically there is an include file language.php which defines something like this:

Then there is another include file, custom.php, which can be edited through the custom translation admin page, which does something like this:

Then -if the bug ever gets fixed that this is omitted- custom.php close with a merge:
{CODE(Colors="Tiki")}
$lang = array_merge($lang, $lang_custom);

This is used so users/admins can modify the translation given in language.php. Newer values for keys given overwrite older definitions upon an array_merge.

Normally, this works as intended. BUT something completely different can happen if keys with numbers appear...

Voilà, according to [https://www.php.net/manual/en/function.array-merge.php|PHP manual]

"If, however, the arrays contain numeric keys, the later value will not overwrite the original value, but will be appended. "

Which produces very funny (NOT) results, which are very hard to debug. And - language.php for German (de.de) DOES contain several numeric keys.

Also, a user or admin could at any time enter numeric keys. IMHO this "feature" should be documented and measures against numerical user entries be taken, unless I am completely mistaken. But simply try this little PHP demonstrator:

1) Column colapsing is not remerbered whenever I change from one page to another.

2) And also have had some problems with their navigators saying "cookies must be on" when they are on, no matter wich browser is being used. This happends as they attemp to login. After many tries the user can login.

We would benefit in the Tiki Community itself since we would re-use all the information added by users over the years to indicate which bugs in the bug tracker are more important to them. It could be a way to review the list of pending bugs by priority according to user's opinion expressed in that rating option. Deeply nested large file galleries slow to a crawl when file browsing. I have a site with roughly 3000 sub-file galleries. The site is quite fast for browsing wiki pages, but the file galleries have slowed to a crawl. A regular page load takes about .2 seconds. To load a typical file gallery takes about 17 seconds. I believe there is a recursive call to a function that is building the directory structure each time you browse to a new folder that is slowing it down, but I'm not really sure about how to fix it.

Perhaps store the tree in the database and only update it when changes are made to the tree?

Use case: LDAP setups with numeric ID's for usernames: the admin needs to be able to switch to some user's account to check that settings and perms are as expected for that usergroup, etc. I know the co-worker names, but I don't know their ID's in the setup, other than manually checking at the users list and infer it's name from their email.

This line seems to control it at the template for the login box module:

I managed to make the userrealname display in the dropdown box. But I need that userrealname as label, while keeping the username as option to be used internally (otherwise the switch user does not work, as far as I could see)

Display Realname instead of login at the ((doc:Action Log)) for admins or non-admins with permission to see log reports (teachers seeing reports of their students, project managers seeing reports on their workers, etc)

For those cases (such as LDAP in which username can be just a numeric ID of the user but RealName is the meaningful info/name for that user) where the tiki admin chose to display Realname instead of login where possible.

Now that I found the tab with the password blacklist, I wanted to use it (to translate it - that was before I found out it is untranslateable).

I generated a custom (test) file of passwords to be banned. As the instruction says, a list with one banned password per line. I had two: "123456" and "test". Every one on a line of it's own. I uploaded the word list,

The counter of "Words currentyl indexed" remained at 0. I tried another setting than "Automatically select blacklist", there are many that claim "Word count: 1000". The counter of indexed words remained 0. Also tried "Create or Replace Word Index" and "Delete Temporary Index". The number of indexed words remained 0...

So does this thing actually work?

I know that there is a flowplayer plugin but if I want to embed something from youtube or google videos, the code gets broken displayed.

This would be useful for articles and blogs.

Export Spreadsheet as csv with code to produce svg chart includes the svg output tags in the csv cell instead of the tiki syntax to generate the chart

It would be good to make the 'User' (i.e. user name) a required field when adding a new Tiki User (Admin Users)

Recently, I tested adding a new user without this (left blank), but added the password (2x) and an email. Tiki went the the next step, 'Confirm adding new user', then went to the full user list. Of course it was not visible anywhere in the full list of users (only one page, under 10 users total).

Also, it might make sense to change the name from 'user' to 'user name', or even more direct 'login'.
