Real examples:

I created a tracker "Books" with fields like "Cover" (image) and "1st Chapter" (attachment). It would be great if by inserting a new item in Books, the cover and the 1st chapter would automatically be created in File Gallery.

I have a blog that show events as posts. It could be integrated with Calendar by a tracker, making it possible to insert a blog post and a calendar event at the same time and relate them.



Solution

You can imagine trackers as extensions to objects like it is done with users and groups, expanding that concept to everything, like files, blog posts, etc. (New tracker field types "File selector" and "Post selector" maybe?)

But also the tracker form would be and alternative to insert those objects, not only to select previously created ones. And for that it can be necessary to make a correlation of fields between the tracker and the object (I could set a default gallery for the cover image, for example, and make the Title of the book be the name of that image also).
