error message, broken, etc
A bug is something which doesn't work like it should. It is an obvious error.
This category was probably used as a fallback for bugs which did not fit other Bug subcategories before the general Bug category was created.

Object of class PEAR_Error could not be converted to string
{syntax type="tiki" editor="plain"}
The following bug was registered with the PEAR bugtracking system (at http://pear.php.net/bugs/bug.php?id=13748) ; we believe the issue to be more related to missing error checks in tikiwiki than with Net_POP3. If somebody could look into this from the tikiwiki side of things it'd be much appreciated.

thanks

Description:
------------
The Tikiwiki groupware comes with version 1.1.2.5 of the net_pop3
package. Whenever I want to collect mail with pop3, I get the message
"Catchable fatal error: Object of class PEAR_Error could not be
converted to string in
/home/vicfont/public_html/forum/lib/webmail/net_pop3.php on line 909".

I investigated a bit and found that file net_pop3.php actually
corresponds to this package POP3.php. So my guess was to exchange the
file for the new version 1.3.6 - but still the same problem occurs (now
on line 897 though...)

I now believe that this is a bug in the PEAR package, which somehow
must dpend on the PHP configuration, as there are thousands of Tikiwiki
installations running with no problems...

Please help me with this. And feel free to get in touch if you need to
know anything about my PHP installation or configuration.

Best wishes,
Jan

object/category permission Back btn corrupted
In both the object and category permission admin screens the URL for the Back btn at the top left of screen is not being properly formed

Looking at tiki-objectpermissions.tpl line 6 the variable $referer must already have the full URL and then the URL root is being prepended again

This bug can be seen in the current dev site

seems to be fixed now {sign user="eromneg" datetime="2014-07-21T12:15:39+00:00"}

On some pages modules are unassignable, though they shouldn't be - or they just give errors
The X-Button in the title-bar of modules has following behaviour, when the module in question is set to "Assigned now, can't be unassigned":

- While in MyTiki -> Preferences: can't be unassigned, everything ok (sometimes gives an error-message)
- While on HomePage -> Module can be unassigned
- While on another Wiki-Page -> "Page not found - you want to create it?"
- While in Trackers -> Invalid variable value : trackerId = 1?mc_unassign="module-name-here"
- While in workflow -> Module can be unassigned

On the newsletter admin page, Import emails from tracker goes to a 500
{syntax type="tiki" editor="plain"}
On the Admin Newsletter page, I create a new Newsletter.

Then from the page tiki-admin_newsletters.php#contentadmin_newsletters1-1 I click the action wrench for the newsletter: "Subscriptions".

There tiki-admin_newsletter_subscriptions.php?nlId=6 (this newsletter is id6) I go to the option; Import emails from tracker. I select the tracker where I want to grab emails. Click "Add".

It goes to a 500 and this is what I see in my php_error.log
It seems a bit inconsistent as it mention a tracker field from a different tracker I selected...

On upgrading to 2.x the files wikiplugin no longer works.
When using the files wikiplugin nothing appears in the wikipage when previewed or saved in v2.x. When posted on the forum Sylvie sent me alternative plugin files which enabled the plugin to be used once on the page. But if the plugin is used more than once on the page, the page is completely blank (whitespace). PLease see the forum post for details: http://tikiwiki.org/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?comments_parentId=22894&topics_offset=22&topics_sort_mode=lastPost_desc&forumId=4

PLease note I am using TW on Windows (IIS) with MySQL but have recreated the bug on the opensource CMS demo.

OpenID login not working
I activated the Tiki + OpenID login, and pasted the google OpenId url: https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/id

The result is a blank page. I tested by turning off the server firewall completely to make sure there was no issue with the port.

I want to test it here on the show-me instance to confirm the issue.

Opening pages in the 1.9 result in the blank page
Selecting pages in the 1.9 result in the blank page. It takes several refreshes to get a page to come up. To my knowledge, none of the log files contains any error messages.

Everything was fine while I had 1.8.6 version. After upgrade to 1.9.3.1, I constantly have issues with blank pages and no error messages anywhere. Upgrade 1.9.4 didn't improve anything. It typically takes 2 to 3 refreshes to get the page. For any production site this would be a mission critical problem.

Organicgrp install problem
Hello Tiki community, first time posting here.

I`m having an strange bug when trying to install the syn_organicgrp (v0.2) on my project. I installed de tiki_organicgrp without a problem before, but the other one seems not to cooperate...

What happens is the following:

I install it via the command:
sudo php-5.6 console.php addon:install syn/organicgrp
and for some odd reason, happens this:
Profile 007_groupcoreactivities was already applied. Nothing happened. (Even though I had nothing installed before).

Tried also to install the 007 profile with the profile command, and even though it said that the profile has been installed, it continues not to work when I enter in a Group page, saying: This profile for this addon has not yet been installed: syn/organicgrp - 007_groupcoreactivities

Im not a web expert, so I`ve been trying to solve this for more than a month, but no success. Thats why I decided to ask for help here.

Thank you all very much!

There are also some other errors reported in the install
Here is the full log

Out of memory bug in tiki-edit_templates.php
Hi,

I've just been testing Tiki to see if it will suit my needs. Came across the following bug in tiki-edit_templates.php whenever I tried to edit any templates or CCS.

Whenever I tried to click on the Edit Button for templates I got the following error:

PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of XXX bytes exhausted (tried to allocate XX bytes) in tiki-5.1/lib/init/initlib.php on line 185

System setup

System: FreeBSD 8.1
Web Server: Apache 2.2.16
Php: 5.3.3

Key issue was when looking for templates to list - around line 112 in tiki-edit_templates.php. The code would get stuck in an endless loop trying to get the files a directory that failed to open, exhausting stack size. The following directories would attempt to be opened:

tiki-5.1/templates - opened OK
tiki-5.1/templatesmodules - failed to open causing loop to get stuck.

The templatesmodules directory would fail to open.

Out of memory bug in tikidate-php5.php
{syntax type="tiki" editor="plain"}
__Background:__ I'm in the process of an overdue upgrade of two Tikis from version 2.2 to the new LTS version 6.x. Testing and adaptation of styles was done on XAMPP localhost under Windows and all worked fine. Problems began with installing on public server (Debian). Installation is done from shell (tar.gz and running setup.sh) and a fresh install works fine.

__Problem:__ When I use the existing database (no problems at database upgrading to 6.2 reported) then it also works fine for anonymous user. But as soon as I try to login as admin user, I get a long wait and then:

__Fatal error:__ Out of memory (allocated 110100480) (tried to allocate 157 bytes) in /home/hrusccbo/tikitest.hruschka.com/tiki-6.2/lib/init/initlib.php on line 185
''(Note: the line number 185 varies)''

In order to locate the error, I entered the following line in initlib:

171: print ("a:$errno, b:$errstr, c:$errfile, d:$errline");

The result is that Tiki starts displaying thousands of times, in an endless loop, until memory exhaustion:
a:2, b:DateTimeZone::__construct() [datetimezone.--construct]: Unknown or bad timezone (M), c:lib/tikidate-php5.php, d:182

From that I deduct that the error originates from line 182 of tikidate-php5.php

===Some other findings which might be useful:===

The last days I tried to enter dev.tiki.org and themes.tiki.org, but could not because the sites displayed exactly the same error. Yesterday I went to IRC chat and was advised to clear the cookies of my browser. After that it worked.

Looking at the cookies now, I found that "local_tz" (I assume that has to do with timezone) of my working tw_2.2 had the content "22%3A37%3A23", the cookie from tiki.org has now the content "UTC", but the cookies from working XAMPP/localhost and from the not working Debian 6.2 installation have both the content "M".

This fits to the origin of the error, as line 182 is "function setTZbyID" which calls "function convertMissingTimezone", where "M" is used in a switch/case statement.

But probably the bug is not really in the tikidate script, but where the cookies are set !!! (see below under "workaround")

Hope that helps to locate the bug and that it can be solved in 6.3. In the meantime I'll wait with migrating.

Thanks to all of you for your great work.

Output error when missing field set in pluginList sort control block
Using the pluginList sort control block when you mistype or indicate an inexistent field the output is "No results for query."
IE:
{CODE(caption="Right syntax")}
{sort mode="date_ndesc"}
{CODE}
{CODE(caption="Wrong syntax")}
{sort mode="tracker_field_date_ndesc"}
{CODE}

It doesn’t help to understand what is going on and give a wrong output.

There are results but the plugin is unable to sort them due to an error in the sort control block. Users should be able to see results and a remarks box should warn something is wrong with the field.

Installation and removal of the package, the maximum execution time shows an error
In tiki-admin.php?page=packages#contenttabs_admin_admin_packages-2, when we want to install a package by clicking on the __Install__ button after a while we are sent to an error page.
This shows the error ~~#FF0000:Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in \vendor_bundled\vendor\symfony\process\Pipes\WindowsPipes.php on line 142
~~
The package does not install completely, because it will have a status __Missing__, at this moment we must click on the button __Fix Missing Packages__ for it to install completely.

This has happened even if we want to remove an already installed package.

Packages fail with uninstallable package
When a package is enabled where the system requirements can not be met, it causes composer to fail to install all packages.

saml is one of our packages that is causing this blockage right now.

Perhaps it would be best to have composer check the system requirements have been met for a package before allowing it to be enabled since enabling it without the requirements will cause composer to fail badly.

To reproduce: enable saml, then try to install other packages.

Packages Timeout
I was getting timeouts when installing mPDF package through the web interface. So I switched to the CI and tried it there. I also got a timeout error with the following message:

The process "'/Applications/MAMP/bin/php/php7.2.14/bin/php' '/Users/drsassafras/Sites/trunk/temp/composer.phar' '--no-ansi' '--no-dev' '--prefer-dist' 'update' '-d' '/Users/drsassafras/Sites/trunk/' 'nothing'" exceeded the timeout of 300 seconds.

That makes sense why the timeout happened! I am running trunk with the dev packages and removing or adding them takes quite a bit of time.

Could packages check that one is not running a development environment before deciding to uninstall all those composer packages?

Page Alias doesn't seem to work.

Aliases are getting registered, however I do not understand why it is "P~SPDE (link to Shared Project Development Environment)" and not "Shared Project Development Environment (link to P~SPDE)", is not it supposed to be other way round?

I just added "foo" myself in this edit, but as you can see by the history diff-info, the parser (I guess) replaced the alias link with a simple wiki link. and the alias link should stay as alias link.

Page description breaks links on other pages
I discovered a problem where one of our users had created a page containing the words SeaMonkey in the description. When she later tried to link to this page with the syntax ((PageName|This is the link text)), the link broke, and tried to embed a link to create a new page titled SeaMonkey among other things. The cause of the problem, was that the description of the page she linked to, was inserted as the title of the <a>-tag.
