There can currently only be one shoutbox to a site (at least by any research I have done). Personally, I think TikiWiki is the best poised software on the net to bring people's data back home by creating by giving the general public the ability to create their own sites instead of being data mined on the current social networking repositories. By enabling each family member to have their own shoutbox it would in a sense give each person their own "wall" feature on their own group pages.

I can see how putting in the ability to have multiple shoutboxes would also benefit company sites by giving each project team using the same TikiWiki site as their collaborative space to have their own rapid update system specific to their individual project needs.

By visitors subscribing to (watching) individual group page shoutboxes a "Twitter" like capability quickly begins to emerge. This is especially true when people begin watching each others shoutboxes this could become a platform for launching a broad feature set.

I'm sure the potential benefits wouldn't be limited to these scenarios alone.

The Multiselect Tracker Field is a great thing. The only disadvantage is, i have to give static options. What I am looking for is this field what reads the options from a different tracker with a filter. I think that is needed quite often. Wondering why it is static here.

Say I am on dev.tw.o and I want to follow-up with a user, I end up on his tiki-user_information.php?userId=xxx __here__.

I should have a link to his page on the master.

Or else, users will end up with user-messages on various *.tikiwiki.org sites.

This is probably a complex feature so I'll try to be as clear as possible.
The term __Lists__ will be used for the rest of the text to describe any structured text inside a wiki page that could be thought of as a group of text describing similar things such as bullet lists, numbered lists, tables, headers, table of contents, etc.

Why?:
Let's say you have some bullet list in a wiki page listing departments in an organization. eg
*Sales department
*Customer support
*Supplies
*Quality department, etc
That info won't change anytime soon so no need to put them in a tracker, you keep all related info in the wiki page.

Now suppose you want to create an issue tracker that can handle issues per department.
Currently you have to either define a tracker for departments and use an item link OR use a combo box,write the departments by hand.

The problem with that is when a change of departments comes, you'll have to remember where the department names are used and to update them manually.

How?:
The above "problem" could be resolved using ''named lists''.
The author could write the department list in a ''named list'' and then when designing the tracker there would be a new type of tracker field type ''named list'' where he would define the page and ''named list'' name or listID to be used.
When adding a tracker item, that field would be rendered:
*as a drop down combo box
*as a radio button list (for single selection)
*as a checkbox list (for multiple selections)
that would fetch the values from that named list.

How to implement?:
There probably are many ways to implement this but my guess is the easiest is reuse/modify existing wikiplugins so as to keep the simple lists plain.
What needed are:
*At most two new attributes for each supported plugin: name and id eg for fancylist:

*A new tracker field type ''Named list'' that would parse the defined named list
That field type would take as parameters:
**The page the named list is in
**The name or id of the named list

Two aspects:

A- Alternate theme for certain browsers:
Ex.: simple theme for IE6 or pocket browsers.

B- Showfor plugin, as developed for Support.mozilla.com


Should the plugin be called SHOWFOR? (if so, it's should be quite generic).

It seems that the print and multi-print options are global. I would like to better control which wiki pages can be printed. It would be nice to have a tiki_p_print permission that could be appplied to pages and/or categories and/or structures.

If tiki_p_print = y, then the PRINT button will appear on the wiki page (if the print and/or multiprint options are enabled). Additionally, the page would appear in the list of available pages when using the multiprint option.

It would be *great* to have way to generate profile YAML from an existing Tiki site.

Many banner advertisers use a javascript for banner adverting. Currently, there is no way to add a JS-based banner.

When viewing a specific blog post (tiki-view_blog_post.php), users should be able to go to the NEXT / PREVIOUS post in the blog.

The __last_modif_pages__ module has a __minor__ parameter which is supposed to be able to permit/omit wiki pages that were last saved with the __Minor Edit__ option from appearing in the list of last changes.
*minor=y (default) -- Show Minor Edit pages in the list
*minor=n -- Do ''not'' show Minor Edit pages

However, this option does not appear to work (in 2.x).

There is nothing in the wiki page history or action log that identifies a wiki page as having been saved as a __Minor Edit__.

Our community needs some forums for the administrators only so that we can pass messages back and forth. However, there's no way to make any of this private. Any registered user can read and post what need to be private forums. In many cases you don't even have to be registered to read.

The main listing of Trackers does not have so much control over its presentation as other Features, (File, Image galleries etc) so if you have a lot of Trackers it can be awkward to quickly find the one you want. ie you cannot control the number of items shown per page without changing the General preferences setting, the default sort is fixed as "Created" and whilst you can do a one-time resort you cannot change the default, and you cannot change what columns are shown. Would be good to upgrade this as Trackers are becoming increasingly useful and more used.

The favicon.ico image has to be manually loaded in the TikiWiki directory and is misplaced during an upgrade to a different directory. There should be a favicon retrieval method with an unchanging URL.

Maybe a URL rewrite rule in htaccess would help. I don't know if show_image.php works with .ico files, but if show_image is used there should be a reserved parameter to request favicon so it will not be necessary to change files and instructions for various sites, such as to define an image ID. It would be OK to configure favicon using an image ID within TikiWiki Administration tools but not in files close to the web server.

When a file is first uploaded the 'success' screen allows a very useful set of "Additional info" to be displayed - but there doesn't seem to be any way to reshow this info once the file has been uploaded.

Would be very useful to be able to always show this in the file Properties so that the inclusion/download info can be cut and pasted.

I don't know exactly well the following questions are related of Feature request or Bug issues. But I need to describe that issues as follows;

# When the Tracker refer the Item Link, need to show the values not of itemId.
# What is the correct expression when I try to refer the category field? I have tested it, and I got it returned category ID not of Category name. I need the later.
# Can I use 'link' not 'value' from Dynamic items list field?

Want generate an unique page name from an auto incremented ID. {$f_#} does not work in pretty tracker example nor {$itemId}. I need a single Wikipage for each item generated from a tracker form.

When Tiki adds the antibot code to a form or table, there is no specific class assigned to the TD or TR. Sometime this results in odd UI (because sometimes the table is NORMAL, sometimes FORM, someimtes FORMCOLOR, etc.)

Hi,

I set TrackerFilter to text search a field ('text with wild characters') on an address field. However, it seems that since this field is 'Item Link', it does not find anything. I tried setting 'index remote field' in the Items List parameters, re-indexed, did not help. Maybe some other parameter I missed?

I went to the related tracker that the 'Address' field was linked to, I exported it. found the entry I needed (150 Main street) found the item id, 2673, entered it into the TrackerFilter text search for that field and it found all the entries with that address.

Any way this can be made to work with normal search parameters?

Themes in Tiki 26 will support Bootstrap (5.3) color modes, so we need a module to enable users to switch among the modes.

The Bootstrap example of this can be seen here: [https://getbootstrap.com/docs/5.3/customize/color-modes/#javascript]. The switch icon is at the top right of the page.

I think Tiki's color mode switch module should support light, dark, and auto (to use the browser's prefers-color-scheme setting) by default, but should also be extensible. That is, if a site or developer wants to offer an additional color mode (or more modes) and updates a theme to implement the mode, the module admin form should have a field where the new color mode name can be input by the site admin. Then that name can be selected in the color mode switch dropdown menu.

For working on the theme updates for color modes, I copied and adapted the getbootstrap.com page's color mode switch. (I put this in a wiki page and then used a menu page module to make a module and assign it to the top bar. So this is a rough, basic idea of what needs to be done. To do the completed module, someone needs to:
* Create a new module that essentially does what the rough menu page module does.
* Replace the svg graphics with Tiki icon font code, I would imagine.
* Implement the light, dark, and auto options by default.
* Implement a way for the site admin to add one or more additional color modes/names on tiki-admin_modules.php.
* Test to be sure the mode switch can be used by any user. In my rough testing, I found that, recently, I had to be logged in for the switch to work.

As a user of d.t.o, and after having issued numerous bug reports, I get lots of mail from d.t.o., as should be expected.

Unexpected is that less than 1 percent of those mails concern bug reports by me, or where I have contributed or made remarks, or voted them up...

To me it seems I somehow get mail about the __entirety__ of bug reports? It's nothing short of a flood! Since October of 2022, when I last cleared my special inbox for d.t.o. mails, I received a whopping __1.407 mails__. Although I kind of like being (at least a little) in touch, my "window of opportunity" (where I could contribute lots of manhours to Tiki) has closed. And even in that window I could never read that amount of mails.

I find no mechanism that would enable me as a user to preselect "Only mails regarding my tickets, tickets I contributed to and/or upvoted". Or anything of the likes of it. Simply nothing at all. There should be some mechanism that enables users at least roughly influence the influx of mails, or to impose some sort of limits...

I like the feature of nested galleries, and the nested galleries show up fine within the parent. The problem is that all the nested galleries show up in the main gallery listing along with their parents... This seems to negate the clutter reducing ability of nesting the galleries in the first place...

I would also love to see a thumb image from a gallery in the main listing - having the main listing acting like a parent gallery with thumbs of its children...

I have almost completed an integrated TikiWiki forum migration tool for 1.9.8.x and 1.10. Initial release will be to migrate only Tiki forums from one Tiki install to another. However, hooks are in place, and the intention is there, to work on extending the migration tool to importing of phpBB2 (or any other forum software) into Tiki.
