bad contrast of text vs bg in alternate row with trackerlist (or fancytable?) inside a remarksbox plugin with theme cosmo (at least)

After upgrade from tiki12 to tiki15, and selecting theme cosmo.
I had to convert calls of plugin remarksbox into plugin box.

There is bad output on the link when the linked page description has WikiWords.

Example:
[http://tikiwiki.org/TikiLiveCD]

On top, there is alink to pages which have as description the Word "TikiWiki". And it produces some outptut like:

I wasn't happy to see that the file upload process changed the text formatting of file names in a way that changes or muddies the meaning of the text. For example,

"J-M_at_Fameux_IMG_5541.jpg" (file name) produces

"J M At Fameux IMG 5541" (file title).

Information/meaning is lost in this rewriting. The hyphen in "J-M" is intentional; the name is hyphenated and the hyphen should not be removed. Also "IMG" should be linked to the image number with an underscore (this is from my local image naming scheme) - it loses meaning by being detached. In another case, I used the word "expensive-ish", which was changed to "Expensive Ish". This is wrong and brain-dead, or should I say Brain Dead? Which leads me to the second issue: every word becomes capitalized. This is bad style; in a title, only the beginning and important words are capitalized (in English anyway). It's not good to have the software replace proper style blindly with wrong alternatives.

The parameters "URIs where the banner appears only" and "URIs where the banner will not appear" are broken.
I tried in many way starting by the one from the help:
{CODE()}#/tiki-index.php?page=HomePage#{CODE}

For "URIs where the banner appears only", once something is set the banner doesn't appears at all.

For "URIs where the banner will not appear", no matter what the banner is displayed.

It is not possible to change the image banner once one has been uploaded.

Try to change the banner it shouldn't work.

There is an issue with the image upload.

If a banner is placed in a col (left_col) and is wider than the col it will spill over the main page data.

tikiwiki accepts only a zip file with one level to load a lonely galery.

!!The enhanced functionalities :
Now what is the most important problem. When you want to upload many files they are generally into a structure of directories and subdirs with some levels.
This subdirs structure fits with a meaning, groups of file, with same properties and generally the groups that you want to retrieve into the gallery structure (galleries hierarchy).
Generally the files systems don't support libel, comments etc... that be easily communicated, which informations we can hold with the tikiwiki file gallery.

The consequency of these premises is that the best way to load such a structure is that the zip subdir structure should be imported as a gallery structure with the attached files.
After the galery manager can enhance the information (files names, sub-galeries names, comments, properties, rights etc...)

Further the problem of upgrading a voluminous file galery :
1- security and reliability : such load could not be done only into an empty galery without sub ones neither files
2- the system could memorize the subdir names and accept zip upgrades if the structure fits. First same dependencies, accept new subdir and new files, and following the update options of files with same name accept the upgrade keeping associated informations.

I have a 3.3 Tiki Application with a File Gallery configured to store files in the MySQL database. It IS possible to upload zip files and unzip them during the upload. Very useful!

I'm testing a 4.0 instance of the same application, and now the "batch upload" feature does not upload and unzip *.zip files.

I noticed the following comment in the Tiki docs....

Was some functionality taken away?! I sure miss it.

If I change to storing files in a directory (instead of the DB),

When the user navigates to a page in the "Global Settings" section of the left column of the Unified Admin Backend layout, that section of the menu stays open and the current name of the active page is highlighted. But when the user navigates to a page in the "Manage" section, the section closes and the current page isn't highlighted. This isn't good UX practice and should be improved, if possible.

Currently, when one attaches a first file to a wiki page, the attach a file tab turns into a tab that says how many attachments there already are on the page. Clicking on this button does two things:
# it allows you to see the existing attachments and
# it exposes a control that lets you add attachments.
The problem with this button is that it does not offer the affordance of attaching a file. A naive user who looks at this button will not understand that it is the button that one uses to attach a file.

I want to enable comments on wiki pages.

I have two options right now, both have advantages and disadvantages.

Enabling comments on pages

* Pros
o Easy to configure
o Comments are visible directly on the page
* Cons
o No way for people to monitor all posts on the site. Often people post a comment on a a page and never get feedback.


Associating a discussion forum thread to each page

* Pros
o Everyone on the site gets to see every posting that's made on any page. Increases the likelyhood that someone will respond to a post.
* Cons
o More difficult to configure.
o Postings are not visible directly on the page.

It would be nice if we could have the best of both.

What I would like is something where:

* A discussion forum for the wiki can be enabled at a single click of the mouse.
* This single click of mouse would result in threads being a
utomatically created on this mailing list for each of the wiki pages
* The top 5 messages for a given page would be displayed directly on that page.

I tried to understand if it was possible and how to use the tablesorter with tracker filter plugin.

The trackerfilter modal is NOT user-friendly.
Too long list of things the user may not necessarily needed (menu child accordions would definitely help reducing the tremendous amount of information visible there)
The explanation have been copied and pasted as is from another place and hardly make sense.
Fields are not grouped together, naming is not helping (table sorter is hardly if ever found in the options and parameters list or help)... The tracker-mails from dev.tw.o are pretty much unreadable..

BigBlueButton fails to load and exits at this url:

The Bing Machine Translation feature does not work in Tiki 15.2.

I have registered an Azure application with the following credentials:
* ClientID: tikitest
* Client secret: qtlQwEJZ71Xp25WcQ6sLfnYvSaCoA

I have enabled the Machine Translation option and selected __Bing__ and entered the correct credentials.

When I try to use the Machine Translation option on a wiki page, the page reloads, but the original language remains. Tiki displays the following text alert box:

WARNING
This text was automatically translated by Google Translate from the following page: myWikiPageName


Notice that Tiki says "Google Translate" even though I selected Bing as my machine translation.

I flagged this as Importance = 10 because Bing offers a free machine translation option, while Google does not.

When I use "Translate this page to a new language", I get a blank page after clicking "complete translation" or "partial translation".

Creating a new page containing the CODE initial tag and then the CODE close tag
and inside this having a $0 produce a 500 internal server error

Reproduced on two different migrated tikiwiki sites (from 1.97 and from 1.9.9)
(working well BEFORE upgrade) and on the feature/usability tikiwiki forum site itself.

Adding a comment on the 4929th line in lib/tikilib.php you can see it again, but without
proper substitution

The problem is blocking ($0 is several times used inside linux script tipically contained
into CODE tags)

Setting feature_tell_a_friend=n doesn't affect the "Email This Post" functionality for the blog, so visitors is always offered to mail the link for a post. Imho the admin should be able to choose if this is allowed or not.

If a user edits a blog post (ex.: to correct a typo), it becomes the post author and after, the original author can no longer edit it.


author should not change, or even better, let the admin pick the user from a drop-down list.

When you are on a page of a wiki structure, you can click on the print icon, but you will only print that single page.

The icon and option to "__print this page and all the subpages__" (= in the the sub-structure) right from there (without going through all the clicks at "Wiki > multiprint > select structure > print") would be very welcome, since the base feature to rpint the full structure exists.

From the home of the structure, it would print the full structure (as it can be done with one click from a structure within a Workspace through ((doc:AulaWiki)) mod, or through many clicks as usual, as explained above).

If the user is on a subpage of the structure, that button would print that page and all subpages from the same structure.

I think there is a usability bug when the option "Re-validate user by email after unsuccessful logins" is selected.
After x unsuccessful logins, the user gets an email with a link like :

http://www.mydomain.com/tiki/tiki-confirm_user_email.php?user=xxxxxxx&pass=yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

When following this link, the user gets the message: "This feature is disabled". Nothing is clear on what to do next, if one's account is still valid or not, and how to change one's password if forgotten.

Tikiwiki version used: 2.2
Options selected:
* Crypt password method: crypt-md5
* Validate users by emails: yes
* Registered Users can change password : yes
* Re-validate user by email after unsuccessful logins: 3

The option

Then and only then the hidden option becomes visible:

This option should be available independend if or not the option ''Users can register'' is selected.

The ticking of a hidden configuration shouldn't be relevant for any functionality.
