Allow more characters in external wiki page names
The current wiki syntax does not allow commas when specifying the page name for an external wiki link. This is a problem for example when trying to setup an external wiki link to a list of Bugzilla bugs. In "Admin external wikis" I can create this entry
|| __Name__ | __Extwiki__
buglist | https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?bug_id=$page||
But using ~pp~((buglist:1000,1001))~/pp~ on a wiki page does not work.

Allow nested categories in the FAQ and Forums
I would like to be able to have nested categories in my FAQ and/or Forums. This is a pretty simple change (I think, I'm no coder) as it's just adding a 'parent_id' column to the tiki_faqs database (for example). This would allow a layout like

*Firewalls
**Checkpoint
**Cisco
**Juniper

Which would make browsing categories and organizing them easier.

Allow plugin list to filter by "empty" content
Allow plugin list to filter by "empty" content. I.e. get all tracker items with that field empty.
We don't know how to do that, in case it's possible with current codebase.
Thanks

allow posting comments on a wiki page when viewing history
Allow posting comments on a wiki page when viewing wiki page history (for instance, when viewing a diff of page versions from different users): useful on educational scenarios, where it would be easier to report feedback to some students when they make a good or bad change on some content on that page...

Allow profiles to be found by associated freetag in profiles.t.o through the "Control Panel > Profiles" search box
Allow profiles to be found by associated freetag in profiles.t.o through the "Control Panel > Profiles" search box

Profiles.t.o currently runs on tiki 12, but it could be easily (probably) upgraded to Tiki15 if needed.

According to jonnyb in a trm, freetags text need to be added to the unified index, or something like that.
* I added some notes about that [https://doc.tiki.org/Search+General+Settings#Tips|here] {sign user="jonnybradley" datetime="2017-01-19T18:01:05+00:00"}

Allow Quicktags to be defined for multiple features
Currently quicktags must be defined individually for each different feature. It would be nice if you could define one set of quicktags for multiple features. If you define a good set of quicktags for one feature, say the Wiki, the only way to propagate that set to other features would be to do a manual copy and paste (very time consuming) or modify the database table/s directly (Not easy for the novice user).

Allow redirect plugin to use fragment identifiers (section/anchor ids) (patch included)
The redirect plugin currently lacks the ability to include fragment identifiers, e.g. -+~np~{REDIRECT(page=Foo#some_id)/}~/np~+- does not work; the resulting URL is -+~np~tiki-index.php?page=Foo#some_id&redirectpage=this_page~/np~+- instead of -+~np~tiki-index.php?page=Foo&redirectpage=this_page#some_id.~/np~+-

Allow searching by categories and TAGS through the Profiles Control Panel in Tiki
Current feature Profiles in the Control Panels in Tiki searches profile names by category filters (15.x, etc).

Most profiles in profiles.t.o were reviewed in the last years and the suitable ones were added to the ((Profiles Wizard)), in most cases, and added tags to them to facilitate the discovery of profiles that will let you learn how to master feature X or Y that you might be more interested in (e.g., trackers in general, plugin listexecute, spreadsheets, tracker field itemlink, mathematical calculation field, staging and approval, etc).

Searching profiles from within Tiki by tags (folksonomy-based search) is not yet possible. The interface is ready to search by categories (top-down approach, if the naming of the profile doesn't match your expectations, you will miss it probably). "Who knows that Barter_Market will let you practice with itemslist tracker fields? or which profiles will let you learch how to use maps with tracker items? or with convene plugin? or with listexecute plugin? etc.

We currently allow the profiles control panel to search by profile name filtering by category matching the corresponding tiki version. __We should allow that profiles control panel (and /or the Profiles Wizard interface!) to search by tag name while filtering by the same category corresponding to the corresponding tiki version.__

https://profiles.tiki.org/tiki-browse_freetags.php?tag=listexecute&category=18.x ...

I tried once, but my php skills were not high enough, and didn't get the desired result.
Anyone willing to give it a go? (it shouldn't be that difficult for a senior dev, I reckon)

allow seing username in user tracker at registration time, step 2 (filling user tracker item)
I've set up a user tracker at registration time on tw.o, when TwCOmmunity group is chosen between the two listed right now at registration time.
http://tikiwiki.org/tiki-register.php

This tracker mainily requests selecting a checkbox to indicate that the user understands and will follow the rules and guidelines of TW Community, etc.

I've set up a user field at that tracker, so that we can see when each users decided to join TW Community by selecting that checkbox. And while the compulsory checkbox is not acting as compulsory (due to bug), which users did accept and which ones didn't accept.

Allow smarty templates (.tpl files) for formatting pages created using outputtowiki option of pluginTracker
I wish to use a smarty template to format the page created through the pluginTracker output-to-wiki feature. I've just noticed that it only accepts wiki pages as templates. I don't know if this a permanent limitation or not. My wish is for TIki to provide the option to use smarty templates as well as wiki templates. pluginTrackerList does this for pretty trackers.

I want to use a smarty template because I want to avoid creating content for optional fields that were left blank in the tracker item. I can do this with {if} statements and isset().

Allow textarea tracker field to display mail content
Profile ((pr:Groupmail)) keeps a log of email messages in a tracker.
Mail content seems to show in a textarea field. However the content in there shows html tags, with escaped < and > characters, etc.

What about making Cypht mail reader as an option on text area tracker field?

Allow to create show.t.o AND show2.t.o for the same bug report
{syntax type="tiki" editor="plain"}
I attempted to create a show.t.o after I successfully created a show2.t.o instance. sho2.t.o instance got created. But show.t.o didn't succeed in the install. I wonder why. Maybe you can 't create 2 instances for the same bug report, one in show2.t.o and one in show.t.o?

allow to expose pivottable ui to tiki-monitor-stream (notifications system) with usual default time-based aggregations by months, weeks and days
When we enable the ((doc:Notifications)) system in a real-world tiki site, with some sort of activity, we usually end up attempting to review the notification log (tiki-monitor-stream) with plenty of duplicated entries (a wiki pages was edited many times the same day, a tracker items was editted many times in the same time frame, etc.)

Some sort of low-hanging-fruit would be to expose the PivotTable UI (like the one we use in PluginPivotTable) to display those entries from your own tiki-monitor-stream data with usual default time-based aggregations by months, weeks and days.

This is related to the other similar feature requests to allow to use action log or activity stream as data sources to the ((doc:PluginPivotTable))

My 2 cents.

Allow to pass a template directly to tiki_view_tracker_item.php to improve the pretty tracker functionallity
!!Description
Using a tracker in the context of a pretty tracker the following problem shows up:
One would like to link from the TRACKERLIST plugin to an item using a specific template to view that item. (So not always the default view or the same template view as defined within the tracker). Also it might not be desired to have access to the item toolbar visible when viewing the item via the tracker menu or via tiki_view_tracker_item.php.

!!Use case
A concret example might be an issue tracker, where customers have a different view to an issue than the support team. The customer

!!Current workaround
The TRACKERLIST plugin allows to specify an item. However, this template defines how the list is created, not how an specific item is shown when clicking on the item link in the list.

The TRACKERLIST plugin allows also to define a url that is usedd as a link for the items in the list. The pretty tracker documentation gives an example where this link is used to point to a 2nd TRACKERLIST plugin. Because that 2nd list will display only one item, there the template parameter can be used to style the view for that item.

Besides being a bit overloaded, features like comments or attachements are not possible this way.

!!Proposal
If tiki_view_tracker_item.php would allow to pass a view or edit template, than this template could be used similar as if it would have been defined on the trackerlevel.
If the standard toolbar would be disabled and instead a "back" buttom would be added, one could easily click the item on the TRACKERLIST - see the item - and go back. This way also comments and attachments would be accessable. Because the toolbar would be disabled, the user would only access the items through the list defined via plugin TRACKERLIST .

For this to work, two new params needs to be added to tiki_view_tracker_item.php:
vi_tpl // view item template. Syntax as in the tracker for the viewItemPretty
ei_tpl // edit item template. Syntax as in the tracker for the editItemPretty

!!Example
~np~
{trackerlist trackerId="1" fields="1:2:3" showlinks="y" showpagination="y" more="n" server="n" url="tiki-view_tracker_item.php?vi_tpl=wiki:Customer-View&itemId"}

Allow to reply messages to anonymous users (which provided their email) from the contact-us tracker
Allow to reply messages to anonymous users (which provided their email) from the contact-us tracker (created through the corresponding profile in the profiles wizard) directly through some integrated tiki feature, and not necessarily through some external software.

Maybe PluginMail if it can receive the email from the PluginTrackerList with param checkbox properly configured (failed for me with current codebase), in a similar way to receiving username in meesu-compose.php for registered users.

Allow Tracker item rating to be seen or voted through PluginTracker and PluginTrackerList
Nowadays, Tracker item rating cannot be seen nor selected if using either ((doc:PluginTracker)) or ((doc:PluginTrackerList)). However, it can be seen (for anons) and voted for registered again, after some recent fixes by Sylvie! (thanks Sylvie :-)

I tested that here in dev.tw.o (for instance):

http://dev.tikiwiki.org/Calendar

(not showing ratings even if they exist; check [tracker5])

2007-08-13 ML: But this will conflict with wiki page cache. (because value of my last vote is shown, and likely different than yours).

2007-08-13 Xavi: If cache is the problem for this feature request, why not forcing/advising the user to avoid using cache (at least in this page) if he/she wants this tracker field correctly show on the page? (in case this feature is considered interesting enough). I leave to consideration by coders... It was just a suggestion which I would find useful.

2007-12-09 ML: Fixed in BRANCH-1-9 by Kerrnel22. You need to add tracker field ID to trackerlist plugin.

__Wiki page cache with trackerlist ratings needs to be tested to see what the real issues (if any)__

Allow users to upload their profile photo avatar at registration time (through the user tracker)
Allow users to upload their profile photo avatar at registration time (through the user tracker)

The simplest approach, maybe, could be to allow the site admin to setup a tracker field of type "userPref" to handle the user avatar?

I know avatars are not user preferences (other things aren't but are treated as such for end users for the sake of usability simplicity, afaik)
See:

Allow users to view RSS module list and add modules without other admin permissions
Access to RSS modules (incoming feeds) is an all-or-nothing option in v2.0, with just one admin permission available. A beneficial feature for our Tiki would be to enable users to view the RSS module list and add new modules, without having other permissions, such as deleting modules.

Regarding this type of syntax to set date and times, you can see:

Allow Wildcards in Searches (at least for ElasticSearch)
The current ElasticSearch Implementation is very nice but I noticed that it is impossible to specify wildcard search (term*).
This may not be a big deal for englisch users but in languages like german, we combine our words to form new ones. Example: Hoch (high) + Haus (house) = Hochhaus (Skyscraper).
You can imagine that a lot of searches fail because people expect to be able to search for substrings.

Alternatively allow us to manipulate the tokenization of the words by syllables or a dictionary.

Allowing for positioning of Quicktags
Quicktags cannot easily be ordered i.e. the order in which they are displayed to the user. Currently the only way to do it is to prefix each quicktag name with a number to ensure they are sorted in the order in which you want to display them
