Buddha out of karma
Karma comes from a good intention : to distinguish what is worthy from what is worthless.
However, it appears that karma is often - if not always - abused by people who are partakers in an argument. That is, they don't use karma to give a genuine and indicative opinion, they use karma to debase a legitimate opponent.
Some sites can be plagued by karma wars.
Some people who are always right can be labelled always wrong by opponents, or others users who don't have a sufficient level to understand what was said.
Some users can be deterred from writing quality texts, because they immediately receive an avalanche of neg rep, as soon as they try to raise the level.
Ideally, a user who always writes things that make sense, and who always behaves according to the rules, must be protected by the system, even if the crowd of obnoxious incompetent users is against him.
Include option to separate voting on forums from karma or score system
Nowadays the voting on forums is confusing in educational or e-democracy scenarios, since it's not easy to understand why a voting of ! makes just 0.40, or a voting of 5 make 1.60, etc. as it may happen nowadays, since voting on forums seems to be linked to karma or score system.
There should be an option to unlink them, so taht a vote of 1, makes 1, and an option of 5 makes 5 to be included in the mean which is shown at the end on the rate value.
The following is a list of keywords that should serve as hubs for navigation within the Tiki development and should correspond to documentation keywords.
Each feature in Tiki has a wiki page which regroups all the bugs, requests for enhancements, etc. It is somewhat a form of wiki-based project management. You can also express your interest in a feature by adding it to your profile. You can also try out the Dynamic filter.
