After a command line installation, I can't log in.

((doc:Admin Wizard|Configuration wizard)) doesn't seem to save changed prefs. I've been recently warned about a new tiki admin unable to enable structures, that he needed for a knowledge base with tiki.

He was using the configuration wizard, going to wiki, tick "Structures", click at "Save and Continue", but when going back through the button "Back", or going to the control panel Wiki and review structures there, they where not enabled indeed.

I was able to reproduce this bug in recents (git based) Tiki 22, Tiki 23 and Tiki master. However, the feature seems to work as expected in Tiki 21 LTS.

It has been reproduced in branch master in a show instance:

Click as "Save and continue"
Click at "Back", you will that the structures feature is not enabled indeed yet.

Configuration Wizard, setting not applied (WYSIWYG) on the HomePage, the very first page Admin will land and will want to change.

Tested on new install of Tiki15.x, 16.x and trunk.

Step to reproduce:
Install Tiki : tiki-install.php.
At the end of the install go to Configuration Wizard to Select Editor type.
Enable WYSIWYG => save and continue.

The Wysiwyg editor screen show:

Compatible Wiki mode Use wiki syntax for saved pages.
This is the most compatible with Tiki functionality and the most stable editor mode.
Tools and functions in the editor toolbar will be limited.

Full WYSIWYG editor is displayed by default : enable
__So all is set and the wizard tells you that WYSIWYG will be used by default on the Wiki page.__

Exit the wizard, edit the HomePage.
It is not WYSIWYG but Wiki syntax. The HomePage is created by the install process and an extra step is missing in the wizard (it should change the HomePage editor to WYSIWYG).

The template for the community wizard has an error, it points users the wrong direction to look at:

The Friendship&Followers settings are not in Control Panels > Social Network > Friendship and Followers, but rather in Control Panels > Community > Tab "Social Interaction".

The Site layout selector doesn't have any options. This is a regression from Tiki 14. I thought the problem might have been caused by my changing the names of the layout options, but now I think maybe this isn't the case (that is, I don't see code that would be edited similar to how I edited to make the layout name changes).

(I don't know how many people would change the layout template via the setup wizard, but the broken selector isn't good for user confidence.)

I tested the installation of Tiki trunk in a language different than English (Catalan, in my case), and at the end of the wizard, when I'm supposed to enter Tiki, I get an error 500 message.

Repeaating the same installation procedure and options but in English since step 1, can finish the installation process and admin wizard without issues.

Upon visiting tiki-wizard_admin.php, I get "Object of class AdminWizardCompleted could not be converted to string". See attached pics.

While translating the wizards, I stumbled upon I text that I cannot come to grips with.

Under the section "Other options to be set elsewhere" are
"Display last comment author and date" and
"User can see his own items"

The former has a bubble help containing
"In lists of tracker items, through the interface of the tracker feature as well as through list in tracker related plugins" and
"You can set it in 'tracker edition > Features > Allow comments > Display last comment author and date'."

What is "tracker edition"? I was unable to find this anywhere. The option "Display last comment author and date" is to be found in /templates/replace.tpl, but I never came across that dialog when I backtracked through all of Tikis GUI, and a search for that function on the GUI fails.

The latter has "The tracker needs a user field with the auto-assign activated. No extra permission is needed at the tracker permissions level to allow a user to see just his own items through Plugin TrackerList with the param view=user" and
"You can set it in 'tracker edition > Permissions > User can see his own items'"

Of all languages in Tiki, no one ever translated "tracker edition", only Spanish, but it doesn't give me a clue to its meaning. I don't speak Spanish, I'll have to add. Googles "translation" rings no bell.

"User can see his own items" is a regular permission, and access to this is through the regular GUI for setting permissions, listed under "Tracker", but that doesn't involve "tracker edition". This string is a mystery, please clarify.

Also, I cannot find where on Admin GUI "Display last comment author and date" gets set, so I can write a path to it (although again I cannot change that in translation, as tr() was once again not set around the whole string, but to every part of it, one of them being "Features" - which will always translate, because that string is needed. Thanks for clarifying!

Please rename the start button of the wizards.

The reason is that the translation function tra() is completely ignorant of context. And at least in German the problem arises that the imperative of starting, that "start" means, is different from the noun that marks the beginning of a calendar event. In English both are "start", but not in German.

In German that is "Beginn" (as with all nouns with upper case 'b'), while the imperative of starting would be "beginne" (as with all verbs with lower case 'b'), or in the preferred more professional looking passive construction "beginnen". The verb "starten" also exists, with that it would either be "starten" or "starte", but this arises the problem that if I rename one, I must as a consequence also rename the other. It is not possible to correctly translate both!

Because tra() is igorant of context... So I have to make a decision which wrong translation does lesser damage... So please find a different string for "Start". Preferrably, since it might take aeons before tra() becomes context sensitive, one that carries the context inside the string itself, like "start wizard". This should be a recommendation FOR ALL STRINGS throughout Tiki...

tiki-wizard_admin.php?stepNr=0&url=index.php is not accessible after 16.3 upgrade via svn. Nor is it accessible on new 16.3 install.

All of the wizards use icons that are hardcoded, and this results in them being un-influenced by the choice of iconsets, so they can look out of place.

This should be switched to the way almost all other icons are used (declaration by a given name, and redirection in /themes/basefiles/iconsets.

Almost, because tiki-sheet also uses hardcoded icons (should also be switched one day).
