Description

When one hits the preview key on a heavily-populated forum, the preview gets put all the way down at the bottom of the pane. Despite the fact that the active area in the pane is at the bottom, after the preview action, the screen will be positioned at the top. At best this involves a lot of unnecessary scrolling; at worst this can be very confusing to the user.

Solution

Alternative possible resolutions:

  1. At least some forum systems bounce you to a new page, not on the same page as the existing thread, when you get a preview. E.g., whatever software the Mozilla Zine uses does this.

  2. We could put an anchor at the edit pane, and restore the screen position to that point after the preview is generated into the page.

  3. We could put everything at the top of the window, where the refresh puts us.

I'm inclined to think that the third is the least desirable.
