It is the second time (and I see others having the same issue) that saving a comment using the "Save and Comment" button when completing a tracker item on tracker5 creates 2 identical comments instead of one.

search "Editorial Board Meeting" at doc.tw.o admin category EBM returns Column 'name' ambiguous
At doc.tw.o (upgraded to 1.10svn April 12th), I went to admin categories.
Selected "Editorial Board Meeting" (already existed), to add pages to it.
At the filter box I set "Editorial Board Meeting" and a mysql error is returned:

Search for javascript looks for ja<x>vascript

http://tikiwiki.org/tiki-searchindex.php?highlight=javascript&search=

I have a TikiWiki site which requires being able to search text which includes web terms such as j-a-v-a-s-c-r-i-p-t but can't do such a search.

Someone said on IRC this is due to a protective input filter which is altering dangerous text input.

Search on tw.o fails to find a page which exists, even if wiki search index is requested to refresh
If you serch for WhoWhat at the search box on the header of tw.o site (as registered user), or from
info.tw.o, you are directed to this url:
http://tikiwiki.org/tiki-searchindex.php?highlight=WhoWhat&where=pages&search=Go

which returns nothing:
^ Found "WhoWhat" in 0 pages^

However, the page exists
http://tikiwiki.org/WhoWhat

This is kind of frustrating for me, so I guess that for new users also (or even more)...

Search result on doc lead to an error viewing an object on file gallery
I run the following search on Tiki Doc: https://doc.tiki.org/tiki-searchindex.php?filter~content=wiki+syntax&search=Search

Many results point to files in the file gallery that show a broken result "invalid backend".

One of the result is : https://doc.tiki.org/tiki-list_file_gallery.php?galleryId=137&highlight=wiki+syntax

It turn to an error:

here I was searching for a recent tracker item I created with the term "Username" in it;

I have checked the unified index freshness (it is ok Your index was last fully rebuilt on Friday 24 December, 2021 07:10:50 IST.) and it should have find me the item I was looking for.

Ultimately the tracker view showed me the item:

Searching and Forums, add and improve searching tools in forums
Actually on Tiki forums, https://tiki.org/forums, there is a "simple" search field on the main page.
Initiating a search open https://tiki.org/tiki-searchindex.php (out of forums area) I can see 1289 pages of results and it look like forum posts (I didn't;t check all pages ;-) ). The first page of results displayed posts from the mailing list archive (forum26).
You can then use facets to try to narrow search results.
But the filters were though for a general use (Object Type, Language, Federated Search, Category Tree, Categories, Letter, First word) and are bad for searching posts in forum... I don't see a case I would use any of them.?

With 1289 pages of results that just awful.

---

If you go in a forum like : https://tiki.org/forum26
You have also a "simple" search field. Again you are redirected to https://tiki.org/tiki-searchindex.php but then it displays any objects found (not only posts). This is bad too. If I'm in a section or an area like a forum and initiate a search I should see results from this area.
Again filters are not relevant.

---

If I go in a thread then I don't have any search tools but seems ok to me.

Searching for keyword "Site" on www.tw.o yields Cannot Display Page with IE7
When on www.tikiwiki.org, I execute a search for anything with "Site" in it. "Site5", or "Site 5" or "Site blahblah". Search returns, with Internet Explorer, __Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage__. I looked at the source and encoding is UTF-8, so at a loss. I tried several other keywords other than "Site" and they all returned proper searches.

This is a weird one.

it's a by setup checkable standart in a high quality CMS

the next half way was a mod from http://www.coofercat.com/wiki/TikiURLtInstall

Semantic Alias creating dead links
Semantic links are creating dead links when a "-" is in the name and under some other unknown conditions. I suspect it may in part be a regression caused by the recent way links are named.

You can see one example here: https://dev.tiki.org/Visual-Programming

At the bottom of the page, the aliases are listed. One of them is "End-user Programming" which creates a link of https://dev.tiki.org/End-user-Programming. The issue is, that does not redirect to the Visual Programming page. It is a 404-not found page. There are also 2 examples at the bottom of this page: https://dev.tiki.org/Browser-Compatibility that behave in the same way.

I also see alias is not working here as well: https://dev.tiki.org/Update. In this case, all of the alias links are dead, but there are no dashes used within the links. Perhaps a separate issue?

Semantic link "alias" broken on 4.1 & still on 6.x in several sites, including doc.t.o
Semantic link "alias" broken on 4.1 for me (regression)
See:
http://gavarrespedia.org/tiki-index.php?page=Pendents

it shows an error page, suggesting similar page, search box, and the option to create the page (as reg. user)

However, the page name "Pendents" is defined as an alias of "pendent", as it can be seen here:
http://gavarrespedia.org/tiki-index.php?page=pendent

which has underneath (inside the "[[+] Fet" box):
{CODE()}
(alias(pendents)) | (alias(Pendents))
{CODE}

So this looks broken to me (at least, with common settings as I have).

---
Reproduced in doc.t.o with http://doc.tiki.org/PluginRR (which has an alias link from http://doc.tiki.org/PluginR )
Discussed (with more details) on irc:
[http://irc.tiki.org/irclogger_log/tikiwiki?date=2011-02-09,Wed&sel=267#l263]

UPDATED: Fixed in current branches, at least (9.x, 11.x, 12.x)

Semantic links module: option not to show alias + if no results, hide module completely
Aliases of the same page are not very interesting, because it's link to self.

But antonyms, related, etc would be nice.

Send direct message via tiki-user_information.php
{syntax type="tiki" editor="plain"}
The ((doc:Inter-User Messages)) system is quite nice.

However, it means:
1- That users have duplicate mailboxes
2- And the recipient can't just click reply

On dev.tikiwiki.org, this is not so nice because people already have an internal tiki mailbox on tikiwiki.org

So, let's think about an additional/modified feature called "direct message" or "direct mail".

This would simulate a regular email. (let's plan ahead that this should be able to send other types of messages (jabber, sms, etc.)

The headers could be:
"from" is Full Name ({$Username}) {senderemail}
"to" is Full Name ({$Username}) {recipientemail}
"bcc" to {senderemail} (So we have a trace of what we sent)

In case some spammers get a hold of it, let's have something like this at the bottom:
This message was sent via {$name of site}

Not sure if this should be done with the ((doc:webmail)) feature, or maybe as an option of ((doc:Inter-User Messages))

See how MediaWiki does it for a good example:

Send/Receive wiki pages sould offer an option to send the whole history
This would be very useful as we move documentation from tikiwiki.org to doc.tikiwiki.org, for example.

For data interchange with other systems too.

sender_email can't be set as $profilerequest:sender_email$YourEmail@example.com$
This profile https://profiles.tiki.org/Bug_Tracker_15 makes an attempt to allow the user to set the sender_email if they haven't done so yet (which is usually the case when we are creating new show.t.o instances, or reproducing some scenario in localhost to debug some feature, etc.)

I'm using the same type of syntax which seems to be working in other profiles:
But this one in Bug_Tracker_15 profile seems not to work:
{CODE()}
sender_email: $profilerequest:sender_email$YourEmail@example.com$
{CODE}

while these other ones, in [https://profiles.tiki.org/Easy+GeoBlog|Easy GeoBlog], for instance, work as expected:
{CODE()}
style: $profilerequest:style$gradiant.css$
sitetitle: $profilerequest:sitetitle$My Easy GeoBlog$
sitesubtitle: $profilerequest:sitesubtitle$My thoughts and musings$
browsertitle: $profilerequest:browsertitle$Easy GeoBlog$
{CODE}

I tried if the issue was adding an "@" character in the working fields of Easy Geoblog, but that worked as expected also even if an email was written there.

Severe problems to log into d.t.o
Hi,

in the past couple of days I had severe problems to log in to d.t.o. First, it kept complaining that cookie consent would be required. I have always had d.t.o. in my list of execeptions.
Therefore I entirely disabled the "improved activity tracking block" of my Firefox ( 84.0.2 running on Linux Mint 18.3. ), but it kept complaining.
After filing a note on tiki.org (where I could log in with no problems at all), and several days with no replies, I tried d.t.o. again. Then it complained about a mismatch of the security token with that on the server, with the remark "reloading might help". It did not. Not immediately. Upon the third reload, with a cache clear and a restart of Firefox, it finally worked...
