Hello Friends,

I am not a technical person. After I installed latest version of TikiWiki using Fantastico I went to Admin Area and when I finished some modifications in Login Configuration Page I was suddenly kicked out (logged out) but even after several tries I was not able to login again.

Because of this problem I removed my site: http://hub.cc completely. I downloaded the latest version from site: www.tikiwiki.org and re-installed it using my FTP clients. But unfortunately once again faced the same problem.

I therefore request you to please check my site and guide to me how can I Debug this issue!

We can now use the login box but it's not very obvious. There should be an icon / button somewere in tiki-adminusers.php

Just after creating a user or adding to a group would be a good time to Switch User and see what (s)he sees.

The "Tiki User Registration Request" email that is sent to admins when a new user registers may not contain enough info for the admin to make a decision as to whether or not to approve the registration. The only link in that email automatically validates the user without any second chance (if the admin thought that after following that link he would be given a chance to review the new user info before validating the unknown user, he will be mistaken).

templates/mail/moderate_validation_mail.tpl should be improved to include any user tracker info that the new user has submitted, or provide a link to view any such user info.

I've installed a new Tikiwiki at http://www.vic-fontaine.com/forum and started configuring it.

Now I have the following: No-one can log in any longer.

Steps to reproduce (at my installation):

* Create new user
* Confirm e-mail
* Log out new user
---> Login not possible

Admin can't log in either. I've managed to reset admin password to "admin". Still can't log in.

I've posted a questin in the forum, but now I believe this really is a bug. If you need more information about my installation, I can give it to you (database entries etc.)
Please feel free to log into my installation as admin if you manage to.

Settings → Users → ''Add or remove from a group'' option from the right-hand spanner

On a new Tiki it opens the "Change group assignments for selected users" modal which helps place the user in groups and set the default group. ''This is fine''.

On a Tiki with a lot of groups, the modal fails to show up and the javascript console reveals that Tiki tries to send the huge list of groups using method GET.
Unsurprisingly, this is met with « 414 Request-URI Too Long »
__This is not fine__ :-(

No show instance with hundreds of groups is necessary : I hope this can be fixed by changing the GET query into a POST.

When I register a new account I get a correct warning at the bottom:
If you use an email filter, be sure to add Tiki12 DEV2 Responding Together <responding.together@wikispiral.org> to your accepted list
This is correct and is like Tiki 9.

The email is received correctly, but it claims to come from "Tiki12"
The originator field (the "From: " field when doing "show email source" is:
From: Tiki12@wikispiral.org, DEV2@wikispiral.org, Admin@wikispiral.org, SPIRAL@wikispiral.org, admin@wikispiral.org
This is gibberish, none of these emails exist

In Tiki9, it was correctly claiming to be coming from "Tiki12 DEV2 Responding Together"
and the From: field was correctly:

We have upgraded Tikiwiki 12.6 to 12.11 and we are using CAS authentication for managing user access, but still want to keep user validation after registration. I was able to validate users in tiki12.6/12.5 but that is broken in tiki 12.11(LTS) and no error is reported, and there is a message that states "Account validated successfully. "

At https://tiki.org/tiki-admin_banning.php with right permission an admin can see the list of the current rules.

But there is not dates, so you don't when was set a rule (could be obsolete and set 10 years ago).
Editing each rule one by one doesn't help, still no date.

It seems the search system "Find" work for the "Rule title" and the "Custom message to the user" fields but it is not possible to retrieve an IP (could be something to do with search settings)

Context: when folks register to a Tiki-powered site, they typically need to validate their email.

Registration can be turned on/off
Email validation can be turned on/off

Given challenges with email deliverability, it's quite possible that the validation email never reaches the user. Or falls in the spam box.

About this email:
* It should be possible for recipient to indicate something along the lines of: "This was not me or it was a mistake, please delete the account"
* If there is no confirmation, there should be a way to send an another email, and track how many emails were sent.
* If the email bounces, it should be indicated in the user profile.
* The emails should be super clear so people don't flag as spam
** Ex.: On 2023-11-05, someone from IP 123.456.789.123 registered a new user abc to site example.org using the email xyz@example.com To make sure this is valid, we request yiu click this link.

There are some settings to
#force a user to validate an email addresses by clikcing a link
#for admins to need to click a link in an email to approve a new account.

But what if emails aren't getting through or to go faster?

Some users may never receive the validation email (ex.: spam filter) and the tiki admin nevers knows their status.

Hi,

First a warning: I am new here... and new to linux...

I installed tikiwiki and while configuring the categories and user rights I got the Message

Template Error: setRoot: . is not a directory.

It happend calling the page

tiki-browse_categories.php

and it happens with all users I configured, even the adminuser.

Any ideas?

The link sent to the user for validataion is now missing a questionmark. Here is the linkI received from my 1.9.5 install of TikiWiki while testing features:

More to the point. This is the problem:

*tiki-login_validate.phpuser=pony...

Where .php ends it should instead write:

*tiki-login_validate.php?user=pony...

I setup tiki 5.x on CentOS. Installation and initial setup went well. But once I logoff and tried to log back in as admin, or any other users. It always directed me to error 404 says tiki-login.php webpage was not found. I browsed and saw the file was there. Tried to reisntall twice and had same problem. Please help. Thank you.

When using InterTiki, registration should be sent to master site

There should be a note, only visible to tiki_p_admin that the anti-bot code is not currently here because the GD lib is not there.

I have encountered a few snags after upgrading from Tiki 1.9.11 to 2.0

One of the problems is that I am unable to register / add users, because of the following error message:

An error occured in a database query!
Unknown column 'email_confirm' in 'field list'

This happens on
tiki-register.php (registration) and tiki-adminusers.php (batch upload / add)

Is there a fix for this?
