When the FOOTNOTEAREA plugin is called more than once for a single context, footnote numbers are duplicated. For example, if a single wiki page contains 2 footnotes and that each is displayed in its own footnote area, both notes have the number 1. Moreover, clicking on the second footnote reference brings to the first footnote's content.

When a page displays several footnote areas because it contains several objects, it is OK to re-use footnote numbers. For example, if reading a list of articles and 2 articles use footnotes, it would be bad to use different footnote numbers than the numbers which would be used if viewing the articles individually. It is good that each article is displayed with a footnote number 1.

Unfortunately the parser has no idea about context up to Tiki 19. In Tiki 19, the second footnote area displays both footnotes, as in Tiki 16 and below, so the first footnote is duplicated. In Tiki 17 to 18, each footnote is displayed just once, the problem is a conflict between these.

The plugin forum and the forum list don’t display the same. (probably not re-indexed right-away?)

Map icons for geolocated wiki pages do not function in Tiki17 when browsing with Google Chrome and Vivaldi.

Using this syntax:

And in properties of wiki page, geolocation is assigned, icons show up well with Mozilla and Edge. While using Google Chrome or lastly Vivaldi (unsupported I know) the map icons are small blue circles, and when clicked on they do not activate link back to wiki page.

For some reason my main page has no sort of formatting instead of actually showing the styling it shows the code, for example:

instead of just showing the "blog posts", that is all I see.

Using H5P Collage, when the file is inserted into page using for example:

The collage looks fine, but when the page is cached, the images fly out of the constrained area and convert to full size images.

When displaying an article, the exif rotation info is not read and used from the jpg file, the image is displayed with a wrong rotation.
When you click on the picture, the info is used and the picture is displayed properly.

I uploaded an oversized image to a wiki page. The oversize image constrains nicely on the wiki page with:
Thumbnail: None
Responsive Image: Default

When the following parameters are applied the image renders poorly:
Thumbnail: None
Responsive Image: Default
Caption: Text
Alternative Text: Text

The faulty consequences are the image fly's out of the constrained area of the wiki page into the body of the site when the Caption and Alternative Text params are used.

I expected the image to constrain nicely in the wiki page as it does when only the Thumbnail and Responsive Image params are applied.

I attempted to place images with captions side by side in a wiki page, with the params as:

When images are placed side by side, with as thumb, responsive n, and caption added, they will not place side by side, but will only place over and under.

I expected to view the images side by side, with captions below the images.

If you you the image plugin, and specify "imalign" it produces an attribute "position=center" etc. on the a tag, but that attribute does not exist, and furthermore does not appear to do anything.

The imalign seems to e broken for SVG files, but does work nicely for other images.

At some point someone added that attribute for some kind of reason, am I missing its use or is this nothing more than invalid HTML?

improve doc for devs about the right way to develop permission checks (global, category and local)

I wish there was a place (ideally) were permission checking in tiki was explained for dev dummies: global, categ and local object perm checking.
That documentation at dev.t.o should be linked, at least from:

I went at cp => profile and got some preliminaries feedback to share (I know it is over the task but it can’t hurt to know where we fail);

It’s a bit unfriendly... I mean the information is very thin and unless I know what I want the page information are not helping.
I tried to check the profiles that can help with: user, registration, users, profile, profiles... no results.
I turn advanced admin pref = no change.
I rebuild Admin Index = success dozens of profiles appears !

Admin Index should be automatically rebuild on install because I guess a lot of things are then not working (search, profile...) as brand new admin expect.


Results are not helping again. :-(

I would limit the profile version displayed to no less than 10x (profile for 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x... really ?) it is not helping and add confusion.
As well as the Profile types it doesn’t help a lot...


The links “suggested” would have help if they were at least short description of what do the profile.

Syntax highlighting for PHP (and presumably other languages) does not appear to work at first glance. Upon further inspection, its clear that syntax hiliting within the CODE plugin expects a HTML file, rather than an inline code example. I propose a reversal of behavior to expecting an inline example.

On a new install, when using the installer you are asked to select your language on the second step.
Once done the Tiki change language to whatever you selected instant (no validation).

After I choose a language it should keep up to the first entrance of the Tiki I just install.
Let say I choose french on step 2, it should be the language selected till I complete the install process (and may be after as default language). However, on step 7 "Configure General Settings" the language is reset back to English (translation exist but not performed) and then back to the selected language on the step 8.

This is wrong a give a poor image of Tiki on the first run.
Note that new Tiki user has __no way__ to go change back the language.

When you place more then 167 nested plugins of for example DIV (so not nested in nested in nested..., just plugins with only one nested plugin each). It will eventually not parse the plugin anymore.

This is due to a counter (passes) within the PluginMatcher.php which is limited to 500. But I'm guessing this counter is meant to avoid 500 nested in nested in nested in nested...etc (which indeed make sense to me), but not that this keeps counting when you start a new plugin.

I think there should be some attention to the levels. It seems that level zero is the whole text and that level one is simply the detection of the plugin, level two is the detection of a nested plugin, level 3 is the detection of a nested in nested plugin etc.

I haven't figured it out completely, but I have found a workaround to make the counter count as espected. But this is again a workaround and a real solution is needed.

Edit: More info...it "goes wrong" when the performReplace function is called, which itself calls the getSubMatcher function again, which increases the level (for which I believe should not happen the first time it is called). Whithin the findMatches (which also calls the getSubMatcher) there is a test whether the $this->level is empty and if so, the passes-counter is restored to zero. This test is missing within performReplace, but should maybe also be added? The problem is then that the passes-counter should be also known by the other functions. Shouldn't be difficult to do.

Some options for tracker field Item Links are broken;

Multiple Fields display type : table is not working anymore a single check box is displayed without any text.

When setting Display to Link and Select multiple values to yes (Multiple Fields display type: dropdown - table is broken as explained above) no link is displayed only text.

Will create an instance as soon as instance are back online.

When I point an itemlist on a multilingual text field from another tracker, It does not show anything.
Doing the same on a non-multilingual tracker works fine.

Java currently does not work on any major browser. (FF52, Chrome45, Edge/Win10)

Java has never worked on mobile.

I think safari is the only exception to this rule. IF there is a valid security certificate it will run if you jump several option deep in your security settings (no indication by the browser that this needs to be done) So its essentially completely user un-friendly, and will not under any circumstances run jCapture.

jCapture and Plugin Jabber are the only 2 parts of tiki that use java.

Jabber is completely broken. It points to a .jar file that is no longer in tiki.
jCapture wont run on any modern browser.

I vote for the removal of these 2 features from tiki 17

Installed a fresh tikiwiki 17.1.
Enabled and configured LDAP.

When trying to login, getting this error in frontend:
"Authentication error"

Had to login second time in order to be logged in.

It's not getting in "if ($result == USER_VALID)" because $result is a string that is a username

So this edit fixed the issue, and I was able to be logged in after first login attempt

It seems that there is an error in the following line of function validate_user_ldap() of /lib/userslib.php:
$this->ldap->setOption('bind_type', 'full');
Because of that ldap bind_type is always full, no matter what bind_type user sets in settings in admin panel.

Plugin Convene is "Always" editable and can’t be locked even when meeting is decided.

Sample is our Roundtable that people keep to edit after time is fixed and this lead to confusion.

It is easy technically (I think) complicate practically.

Who has right to edit the page can always change it so it must some kind of Warning or...

When a long description is entered at "edit properties" for a file, and saved, then when you hover over the "i" icon for information, the flyout dialogue is not responsive. It fly's out of the constrained areas.
