When visiting dev.tw.o (homepage), I can't see anything in the central column of HomePage when I'm loogged in, but just the left column. When I'm not logged, I can read everything fine at homepage or any other wiki page.

My browser is Mozilla firefox 1.0.3 catalan. Maybe this has something to do with showing content for specific languages, and not speficied for the visitor's language? (or usage of default one?)

I have no idea (just started today to use 1.9.0 for production... I'm very excited after a year of long wait! :-) Thanks marc, sylvie and all devels (if you read this bug report) for this hard work of you all!

I will paste long test results that i posted in forum at the end.

Simple explanation is that my HTML email that i send as newsletter gets corrupted by my MTA. Pretty sure this is a Tiki issue since i get 100's of correctly formatted html email every day.

Been pulling my hair out for hours trying to figure this out; decided to try searching forum (will someone with admin please enable full text search on this site???). Came across this post that sounds much like my problem. Doubt anyone still watching this post but maybe Sylvie is still keeping an eye on it.

I have authored a very lovely, very html rich newsletter. Thought it would be very cool to use TW to send this as an email (ala TW Newsletter). But my email seems to be getting corrupted in numerous very confusing manners. Like I said I have run about 50 tests so far and results are a bit sporadic… so just a few of the results:

- the html file I am trying to use as content for my newsletter can be seen (perfectly I might add) I a browser at [http://www.ottawavolleyball.com/newsletters/nl_0505.htm]


- nl preview almost always looks correct – but not always (can’t handle background style color setting for example – but no big deal)
- I am using a few different mail programs and different mail servers
o mozilla mail, Outlook, and webmail
o my ISP mail account and the mail server that run myself

- basic issue is that when I look at the email – it is messed up
- looking at the html source that my email program spits out I see 3 basic types of corruption:
o characters being lost (ex. link to gif is http://domain/ball.gif and it ends up as http://domain/bll.gif)
 this of course shows up when viewing the email as a missing graphic
o characters are being inserted
 the “=” character is being thrown in all a lot ; and sometimes the character string “3D” – which amazingly enough is ASCII for .. you guessed it – the “=” character
 this of course has a similar effect to characters being lost

the REALLY messed up part of this problem is what is consistent and what isn’t:

- my ISP mail account generally works better
- errors are repeatable – sending same email over and over will always same corruption
- that corruption is mostly repeatable between Outlook and Mozilla – but not completely

Like I said I have far more details test results – but I figure if someone knows the answer to my problem – they likely already know it from what I have reported so far.

My final test was to simply scrap the whole formatted html newsletter idea and just send a text email giving link to see html nl in browser. My simple one liner with a link also gets corrupted but only when going through my email server (my ISPs works fine).

Any thoughts would really save me a lot of hair…

I encounter https error in Windows 98, list below
1. Use https://lnx1.a-qe.com/tiki/ to login tiki system
2. After input login information and then press enter
3. Inter Explorer pop-up a warning window with message "redirect to non-safe connection when login"
4. Press "OK"
5. IE pop-up login window for infinite loop
6. Input your login information in anyone of infinite pop-up login window
7. if you press cancel anytime then IE display the message "401 Access to this resource has been denied", and IE address box display "http://lnx1.a-qe.com//tiki/tiki-index.php"
8. if you change that address to https://lnx1.a-qe.com//tiki/tiki-index.php, then your status is "Logon" but if you step back page then your status still not logon

In Windows XP, you must refresh 1 time to let IE display correctly.

Hi, I've just started a new Tiki 1.9.0, with new db with profile "Basic enabled for easy use", and after configuring the language in catalan, disabling some basic features, leaving just wiki, categories, etc., and clicked on the l10n Home link at the main applicationmenu, I got this error:

Icons available for assignment to QuickTags are not displayed in the Tiki editor, nor is the path to them. This is a major usability bug for Tiki admins and end users who have no access to the server's file system, particularly because Tiki does not permit assignment of QuickTags without an icon.

I would like to see an option to assign QuickTags without an icon (text title only) plus an interface to display and select icons. (Personal preference: text title only; I am not an icon lover.) Icons already in use should either not be displayed for selection or the fact of already being in use should be clearly indicated.

Using Internet Explorer 5.0 or 6.0 on windows 2000 or XP, i can't successfully login to edu.tikiwiki.org, if intertiki is activated.

I've just installed TW and am focused on the wiki functions at this point. Wiki pages display correctly in Firefox 3.5.2 but as a thin right hand column on IE 7 or 8. The columns get a bit wider once you login to the wiki in IE but not by much. Admin functions are squished in IE but look fine in Firefox as well.

I can't seem to find this in any FAQs or other support links and would appreciate some help.

The following message occurs if you ask for a spell check without even knowing you need to load the Dictionary file.
Which most new users would NOT know.... Certainly I didn't know...

Can I suggest that the error message be more descriptive and contain a link to SourceForge to down load the dictionary.
Perhaps the error message could be "You are missing the dictionary - please down load from ......" <grin>

Would it be possible to have this downloaded and installed from the MODS in Tiki????

Aftger saving an edit to a picture in the Image Gallery (e.g. a name change), the top border shows an error.

The complaint is about a missing "lon" or "lat" index.

I am running Tiki 1.9.7 with MySQL on Linux.

I have gone through the tiki_mysql.sql file and have found no reference to the column listed in the error message:

Apparently this column needs to exist, but I have no idea what the column settings should be. This is preventing me from even using the image gallery feature.

Most people don't need this. The admin determines the sort mode. End of story.

This is a problem which is very difficult to debug because some people see the images and some don't. We have not yet been able to find a correlation of what causes the issue.

The source of the problem seems to be something between the GD image library, Windows and TikiWiki. I have never seen such a problem with Linux/GD/TikiWiki.

The alternate method we are now using is totally bypassing the GD image library (works for all):

categoriezed images - if you follow the link the image des not respect the default scale of the gallery for the immage.

phpBB is a popular open source forum software.
Sometimes, a forum is not enough.
So, the data must be migrated from phpBB to Tiki forums...

If you want to help:
Please post links to similar scripts.
ex.: phpbb to invision board, etc
If/when we do a script, we should do for all major forums.

I have almost completed an integrated TikiWiki forum migration tool for 1.9.8.x and 1.10. Initial release will be to migrate only Tiki forums from one Tiki install to another. However, hooks are in place, and the intention is there, to work on extending the migration tool to importing of phpBB2 (or any other forum software) into Tiki. If you would like more information, email tiki.kerrnel@kerris.com. I expect a general release of the forum migration tool (for Tiki forums only) into cvs of both branches for beta testing by December 1/07. If all goes well, I'll have something released for phpBB2 migration prior to Dec 31.

When I set the homepage in Administration: General Preferences to "Articles" (which is what I want the homepage to be for both anonymous and registered visitors), the initial viewing for "anonymous" displays a homepage of "wiki".

When I set the homepage in Administration: General Preferences to Group homepage and then set the two group homepages to a typed-in "Articles" in the empty field and then log in as any user, the display is "No page 'Articles' found".

One day I thought maybe the problem had to do with using Firefox on a Linux box, because my ancient Windows 98/IE machine brought up 'Articles' as the home page.

The next day both machines bring up the Wiki page as the home page. This is with the homepage set to 'Articles' in Admin-General.

Maybe I should be clear that I am refering to which page is brought up when TikiWiki is first accessed (from www.progressiveomaha.com/tikidir/).external link Once I have logged in as a user, I will access the 'Articles' homepage whether returning as another user or as anonymous. The problem only occurs on that initial anonymous access, and only after TikiWiki has had time to "forget" any earlier logons by that user.
