I've run a script on all profiles from all branches ( https://github.com/xavidp/TikiProfilesTester ) and I see that all profiles since 15.x throw this error message (which might be related to the fact that unified search index may be currently enabled by default)?

Using php 5.6, and mysql (server) 5.7.12 (mysql client: libmysql - mysqlnd 5.0.11-dev - 20120503).

Profiles are applied through the command line with "php console.php p:a ProfileName"

The basic Tiki DB initalization IMHO contains an error. Maybe this is due to a change introduced later that made the INSERT incompatible to the CREATE. /db/tiki.sql contains this at lines 2867-2878:

This should not work. Maybe the resulting error is just ignored? Values are entered into the non-existent column "groupDesc"...

This code in db/tiki_1.8to1.9.sql used in upgrade script, is causing duplicate menu items.

I am working into corporative network with proxy server conection. This conection required User and Password. But into TikiWiki's Proxy Configuration is not requiered.

For this reason I am not conect to download profiles from http://profiles.tiki.org/profiles.

I can not install de Profiles. How I can resolve it?

A new profile handler for wiki structures would be very handy to promote the use of structures in many uses cases (learning environments, project management, TEAMS, workspaces in general, ...)

I created a profile to demostrate the use of wiki structures to new wiki admins, but it's missing the change to create the structure directly from the profile, which would be needed to enhance other more advanced profiles (Learning Center, etc)

This profile, for instance, has some file defined in the file gallery that is created by the profile, and only the first is created through the profile, instead of the whole set as in the past (Tiki12), and the rest of the profile is not applied. If you remove the init_files then the whole profile is applied.

By the way, In Tiki15, not a single file is added to the file gallery.

Clicking the "Preview Changes" button to preview a profile in trunk fails with some badly broken full-tiki page in modal content and a CSRF error message in it:

When trying to execute a profile, validation simply cancels the execution request instead of showing a message with where the validation failed.

Previous versions of Tiki used to do this and is very helpful when testing and developing profiles.

For the first time I tried to use the Profiles Wizard right after install on a 17.x.

For the micro setting : Multilingual Wiki, I clicked "apply profile now".
It send me to the profile page without any profile selected or searched for…

Work (better) in 16.x so there is a clear regression.

On the Admin profile page : tiki-admin.php?page=profiles, I searched manually for the profile "Multilingual_Wiki_12x" when I clicked on it I got a loading message (loading profile) but nothing happened…

So I tested other profiles. Some other did the same and finally very few loaded properly.
Same results on 17.x and 16.x

I have noticed the profile exporter at tiki-admin.php?page=profiles exports only assigned custom modules and ignores the unassigned ones or those used in wiki pages only using the module plugin. These modules are then missing when someone uses the YAML to apply the modules elsewhere. It would be nice if it offered to export all custom modules, not just the assigned ones.

Months ago trunk allowed to install (apply) profiles directly from the profiles wizard. I can't do that any more neither in 20.x nor in 18.x: same effect:

And you never get the profile loaded successfully, on link on the profile name, and therefore, you can't request that profile to get ready to be applied in your tiki install.

If you click at "find" button from that control panel ui, then you get the profile name clickable, and you can proceed as usual.

On the end of the installation of Tiki25.x you can select the Timesheet profile by clicking on a link (apply profile now).

The user is redirected to the admin area to the profile panel with the Profile name field field with "Time_Sheet". This profile doesn't exist and cannot be found. The correct value is timesheet.

When applying profile some profiles have possibility to input custom user value(s), for example:

It displays a text input field before applying profile with label User Tracker Name and prefilled value "User Tracker".
If user tries to change that e.g. to "My User Tracker" instead, after applying the profile the user value gets ignored and uses the pre-defined one "User Tracker" anyway.

This used to work in the past Tiki versions I am pretty sure.

To replicate try searching for [https://profiles.tiki.org/User_Tracker|User Tracker] profile on the -+tiki-admin.php?page=profiles+- and before applying the profile change some value in the fields.

Provide a tablesorter-powered list of profiles in the Profiles Wizard bundled in Tiki to filter on features, tags, names and such

((doc:Profiles Wizard)) has many profiles, and sometimes the admin wants to filter those by feature name that they have enabled, or by tags (demo, learning, advanced, etc).

I don't know yet how to do that at the profiles wizard itself (first screen of that wizard? or second, just after the featured? ....)
There seem to be nice and advanced ways to display the whole list but allowing clever filtering, as seen here:

Work started to have ((doc:tags)) added to the profiles in profiles.t.o, so that they can be searched/filtered by the features used in them, etc.

"R_demo" profile doens't get fully aplied in 15.x complaining of some prefs that are defined (Tracker Field Factory Error: Pref "trackerfield_file" required ....)

During the early site configuration, before the admin user selects an avatar image, there is "AD" text placeholder where the admin avatar normally appears. The "AD" text placeholder, in my opinion, looks jarring and could be open to misinterpretation. Although it only appears until the admin specifies an actual avatar image, until then, it looks to me like an ad banner placeholder or something and doesn't contribute to a good first impression of Tiki by the new admin. If possible, I think it would be much better to have a default admin icon or image that actually looks like it represents the administrator account, rather than text that could easily be misinterpreted.

My choice is the first icon, the person with the suit and tie.

Some desktop applications have a way to report errors. This would help us know which bugs happen the most often. For example, we could check for sql errors or hard php errors.

Of course, this would be totally optional. Even better would be for people to be able to share their Tiki configuration (anonymously) at the same time so maybe we could detect that bug X only happens with a specific combination of on/off settings.

Of course, knowing about all the bugs doesn't automagically fix them. However, some are super easy to fix if we notice them, like this one:

The same way TikiWiki community members can vote on bugs and feature request, the "crowdsourcing" of error reporting will make it easier to distinguish the most common issues. It would also be a hint that some very rarely reported issues are probably related to a rare server configuration.

The same way I invest to address the most voted on features/bugs, I would do the same here. Specifically, I would like to see reports of the top-10 Postgres-related errors. I am sure these are easy to fix and could make TikiWiki more useful to Postgres users. I would like to use Tiki on Postgres eventually.

Although the RFC (for example, [http://www.robotstxt.org/wc/norobots-rfc.html]) doesn't explicitly require a leading slash (/) before the page name, I have found that, as of late Oct, 2005, many 'bots, including Googlebots, have started requiring them.

For example, before the change,

Disallow: tiki-pagehistory.php

would prevent well-behaved 'bots from trying to index tiki-pagehistory.php. However, after the change, I had to have:

Disallow: /tiki-pagehistory.php

in robots.txt, or else all my page history would be indexed! I verified this using my server log, and also by doing google searches against my site for phrases that only appeared in page history. I have every reason to believe this is a problem for all other TikiWiki-based sites.

The robots.txt in the current distro (1.9.x Sirius) contains

Should it not also contain

Disallow: tiki-print_article.php

If Tikiwiki 1.9.4 or 1.9.5 is installed in the wwwroot of a "real" subdomain that resides on its own (win)server (not an alias to a subfolder under the main-domain), then rsslib.php inserts an additional backslash after the domain-name.

Links of rss-feed then look like: ~~#FF0000: sub.domain.com\/tiki... ~~ and RSS feed gets obviously broken.

As a quick-fix for my site I resolved this in the file rsslib.php by deleting the string:

in the variables:
~~#FF0000: $home, $img, $read, $cssStyleSheet, and $xslStyleSheet ~~
in order to get RSS-2.0 to work again.

Unfortunately I'm not any more a coder and don't know php good enough to fix this for everybody and contribute in the CVS (I did no more coding since turbo-pascal under DOS in the mid 90's, but at least still can read a little bit :-)

The "Quick Admin" module is no longer assigned in default installs starting from {commit id=67387} (Tiki 19).
