Search within tables
The search function cannot find words within the fancytables. This is quite important function so I would like to know a solution. Is it maybe possible to use the alternative query when the search returns empty set? and check if the query can be found with this alternative. And site is using mysql search currently. Does this work on other search engines?
By using SQL i can find it by changing the search query from
{CODE(caption="Not found" colors="sql")}select * from tiki_pages where data='myQuery';

or

Select * from tiki_pages where data='%myQuery%';{CODE}

{CODE(caption="Found " colors="sql")}Select * from tiki_pages where data like '%myQuery%';{CODE}

But if you leave out the wildcards it still returns nothing

Search, Catagories and File Gallery permissions issues in 4.2 Stable
{syntax type="tiki" editor="plain"}
I have Staging + Approval Setup for File Galleries. Browsing the Galleries works fine, Registered Users can see Approved files, Admins can see both Approved and Staging.

When I do a search, Registered Users cannot see any of the Approved files in File Gallery. If I turn on Global Permissions, File (tiki_p_download_files), then Registered Users can see both Approved and Staging. In the Approved category, Registered Users have the download files permission.

Something is funny in the permissions for Searching. This does not appear to follow the category permissions.

Search, dev; I can't find a ticket if I enter its full title (partial title work)
On dev.to, is I use the "Search" system from the right col top module "Seach wishes" or

For the string: "Wikiplugin, memberpayment; The period tooltip is not consistent with available options" I have no results.
If cut it and use only: "Wikiplugin, memberpayment" I have results.

I should be able to find the ticket in both cases.

Ultimately the tracker view showed me the item:

Searched words are not highlighted in Tiki3.0
I just installed TikiWiki 3.0 on a XP workstation and a Solaris server. When I performed a search, the searched word was not highlighted in the SearchResults page. I used Tiki 2.2 and 2.8 before and both did it. It could be bug in 3.0.

I have examined the generated page and couldn't find the <span class='highight_word_01'> around the searched word.

I appreciate it if someone can show me how to fix it.

Thanks.

Searching and Forums, add and improve searching tools in forums
Actually on Tiki forums, https://tiki.org/forums, there is a "simple" search field on the main page.
Initiating a search open https://tiki.org/tiki-searchindex.php (out of forums area) I can see 1289 pages of results and it look like forum posts (I didn't;t check all pages ;-) ). The first page of results displayed posts from the mailing list archive (forum26).
You can then use facets to try to narrow search results.
But the filters were though for a general use (Object Type, Language, Federated Search, Category Tree, Categories, Letter, First word) and are bad for searching posts in forum... I don't see a case I would use any of them.?

With 1289 pages of results that just awful.

---

If you go in a forum like : https://tiki.org/forum26
You have also a "simple" search field. Again you are redirected to https://tiki.org/tiki-searchindex.php but then it displays any objects found (not only posts). This is bad too. If I'm in a section or an area like a forum and initiate a search I should see results from this area.
Again filters are not relevant.

---

If I go in a thread then I don't have any search tools but seems ok to me.

Expected behavior:

Step to reproduce:

Possible workaround:
Disable the whole highlighting using CSS.

Searching for keyword "Site" on www.tw.o yields Cannot Display Page with IE7
When on www.tikiwiki.org, I execute a search for anything with "Site" in it. "Site5", or "Site 5" or "Site blahblah". Search returns, with Internet Explorer, __Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage__. I looked at the source and encoding is UTF-8, so at a loss. I tried several other keywords other than "Site" and they all returned proper searches.

This is a weird one.

Set up wish reminder system
Now we have Scheduler and plugin ListExecute we can fairly simply make an automated notification system for this tracker, to:
* email the originator if it's pending and needing retesting
* open, not fixed and a volunteer is listed
* still open after a very long time (gone stale?)
...that sort of thing.

Anyone fancy trying to set it up? (:mrgreen:)

Several items in a relation field may lead to problem with indexing
In a Tiki22 I have 2 trackers (orders, payments) with relation fields.

They may be one order with several payments (recurrent, monthly payment).
I have actually 4 payments per orders and that’s work ok but on a specific case I have more payment and Tiki throw errors.

By nature relation shouldn’t be limited and able to handle many items.

~~#F00:__UPDATE__~~
It is plaguing and changing behaviour of other components.
In the screenshot below you can see many counter (plugin list count template) displaying a 0 instead of the real value even if the list plugin is set with a different tracker. There is a big chance the index become corrupted or not completed so I escalated.

The fields should be protected in a first place (avoiding using longer data than possible to use) and finally this field specific should be set to a relative high amount of data.

Some items "Report a Bug" don't appears in the request "list yours" -> the author logged in had not been got in the item record
{syntax type="tiki" editor="plain"}
Hello,

Some of my last items created don't appears into the "list yours" request on dev.tikiwiki.

!!Details
In seems that it is for all items since a particular date. I have information about this.

Some day ago we had on chat an exchange about the generation of a query with an error (item 3104), when submitting "search" (the error had been checked during the chat - use od in() statement in the SQL request not accepted by MYSQL). The next morning it was put out.

But while we were checking the "list yours" had disappeared. The next morning it was there.

!!Others linked subjects
Items : 3114, 3116

!!Beginning to find the problem (while redacting)
I just made controls, I discover that this items __that I have submitted have no author name, I was nevertheless logged in__.
__This explains the fact that the item don't appears in the list but not why the author had not been defined.__

Syntax suggestion for Unlimited search results
We have no syntax for expressing we want an unlimited number of LIST plugin results.

Using mysql Full-Text indexation, one can express the idea with a huge number like so :
{CODE()}{LIST()}
{filter field="object_type" content="trackeritem" }
{filter field="tracker_id" exact="1"}
{pagination max="99999999"}
{OUTPUT(template=)}
{LIST}{CODE}

It is ugly but it does the job in an expressive way (people will understand 99999999 does not mean exactly 99999999).

Using Elascticsearch, the above will fail with an obscure error message « all shards failed » because Elascticsearch has a hard limit which defaults to 10000 but it can be changed at the server level.
See ''Results Per Query'' in [https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/app-search/current/limits.html]
So I need to use:
{CODE()}{LIST()}
{filter field="object_type" content="trackeritem" }
{filter field="tracker_id" exact="1"}
{pagination max="9999"}
{OUTPUT(template=)}
{LIST}{CODE}
Because "10000" looks like I really want "10000" rather than unlimited.

__It is bad that the LIST plugins need to be rewritten when one changes the unified search indexation method.__ Also, it is not obvious why it fails.

__SUGGESTION__ I feel we should allow for a real syntax for unlimited results such as :
{CODE(caption="SUGGESTED SYNTAX" theme="default")}{pagination max="-1"}{CODE}

Then if Tiki uses Elascticsearch searches it could look up the ''Results Per Query'' value (or assume 10000 for starters) when "-1" is encountered.
If Tiki uses "Mysql Full-Text search" if should not have a limit (or it should have a very high one).
