Into my notes and refs dates are often in not common format yymmdd with B1=2011 date=B10117 is 01/17/2011, B2 is 2012. I used this for the last twenty years, has been used to make able soft to hold 2000 years and sort date (kept stored on six chars with historical data compatibility)in yymmdd yy=98,99,A0,A1..... B0, B1,B2. Used to make able at the end of eighties an important soft to hold long term plans. I use it since this moment and this goes on naturally and can't changed on my computers and data and can be used till year 2370.

I create an 2 new instances (one using SVN one using GIT) using the CLI interface and it worked:

!!!Database information question ?

I don’t usually use root for the database but I tried to check if there was a permission issues.
I filled information based on : https://doc.tiki.org/Manager#instance:create

The database part need little documentation or tips.
It differs from the way we use the Tiki-install.

What is expected ?
Does Tiki Manager create the db, does it expect the db to be created prior the instance creation ?
I usually create my db for each Tiki with specific USER/DB/PASSWORD directly.

The field "Database Prefix" is adding to the confusion. Why a prefix ?
Can’t I directly give my database name ?

Is there a CLI command to import an existing Tiki ?

I'm filing this as 'Bug - Consistency' because the error message does not always display.

Two scenarios - when a new user is added:

1) ... than you immediately assign them to a group, this message is displayed. However, the user is assigned to the group correctly, so to resolve this problem the only thing that needs to be done is for the Error Message not be displayed.

2) ... than the Admin User page is refreshed, no error message is displayed when assigning this new user to a group.

One other piece of information - since the new 'enter password' (e.g. Admin Password) for adding / editing users was added, a Firefox pop-up asking to 'Reconfirm submission' is regularly displayed:

When installing Tiki 6.1 on a system with an engine other than MyISAM as the MySQL default, it creates a random mix of MyISAM tables and the default type tables. This gives the user all the drawbacks of using MyISAM without any of the benefits of using MyISAM, since the management features specific to each engine cannot be used uniformly. Ideally, Tiki should honor the MySQL default, but even forcing MyISAM consistently would be an improvement.

On a Tiki22 I user tracker information.
By default user will be member of the registration group.

In the tracker I set a usergroup tracker.
New registered users show a blank value for the usergroup instead of the "default" registered.

It may work otherwise (forcing the group registered to be selected) but this is counter intuitive and hurt the user experience as this are not done as help says it should.

In 1.10 now we can set to login as e-mail and display realname wherever possible. But the user wiki page by default is set to 'UserCreate<e-mail>. We should still allow user to create his page with 'UserCreate<username/real name>'.

The recommended behaviour should be if user chooses e-mail to be private or it could be if admin sets to disaply realname wherever possible, then it should use 'UserCreate<realname>' other cases it can be based on e-mail.

If you are using user tracker information, when you delete a user there is a new feature that ask you if you want to delete the user items in trackers and it displays a list of trackers.

It shows the tracker used to store the user information giving the "wrong" impression that you are able to control if the user information will be deleted or saved.

The text is a bit confusing but no matter if you select a tracker or you don’t select it, user item in the tracker used to store the user information will be deleted.

Admin should be able to deactivate this option and it should not be set by default (erasing data cannot be default) as they are case you want to delete users but not the item created at their registration as it can lead to disrupt data cohesion on different area of your website (especially if you use on trackers and other created items relies on the user information data).

On my Tiki29.x constantly updated I can see a commit that was made to show the code to insert a file on a wiki page after the upload. It was broken and fixed recently.

At https://29x.demo.tiki.org/tiki-upload_file.php?galleryId=1 the fix is not displayed.

I also checked the git information module that says this Tiki was updated today.

I don't know why but images can not be uploaded to a text area (bug tracker text area in dev.t.o). File gallery view is elFinder, and response is:

I've just discovered the feature allowtableexpansion while using dev.t.o. Nice addition to the UI/UX!

However it seems to be that something needs tweaking still in its implementation in ((doc:PluginList)) [https://doc.tiki.org/PluginList-output-control-block?highlight=allowtableexpansion#Table\:_expand_table_number_of_items_found_optional_title|here] (specially compared to the implementation in ((doc:PluginTrackerList)).

Maybe it's by design, but it looks a little weird...

I was testing other things, and I realized that diagrams cannot be saved inline anymore.

Reproduced in a show2.t.o instance from another bug report (since setting up diagram generation requires some manual steps to get the composer package installed server side)

I selected to save each new diagram inside the wiki page (inline), but that choice was not respected and diagrams were saved in a file in the file gallery.

Upgraded today (server side) to latest 24.x branch: r79594 (Last Changed Date: 2022-01-22 14:46:09 +0100 - Sat, 22 Jan 2022) . Issue solved.

The "perform action with checked" icons at the bottom of the tiki-list_file_gallery.php listing (in list view) requires additional code rewriting in order to convert to iconsets due to the fact that iconsets cannot be easily used for input images.

The directory "templates_c" is no longer contained in the installer zip file in versions 2.0 or 2.1. An error occurs when trying to run tiki-installer.php indicating that directory does not exist.

The installer also omits the directories "maps" and "mods" but it is unclear whether these directories are still required in this version (taken from the documentation on settingg directory permissions)

display a single chart with plugin sheet fails (with mode simple=y or n)

Related to this other bug report:

After bug6265 is fixed, you now display only the sheet which were displaying charts normally, but when shown in mode "simple=y" charts are not shown.

Well, in fact, chart is not shown even if simple=n.

How complicated is it to get the charts shown?

When you use an existing database (UTF8 coded but charset=latin1 and collate=latin1-swedish-ci) converted by tiki-install 5.0 :

1- the titles and contents are displayed : as pure utf8 is saying the French texts (tables defined charset=latin1) :

A- Titles of any item
"L'échec et ses conséquences" is displayed :
" L'échecs et ses conséquences"

B- Texts of dictionnary (language.php UTF8 encoded) as
"créé à partir d'une structure" (comment the update or creation origin of a document) is too displayed
"créé à partir d'une structure"

C- Contents of Wiki or articles : id

D- Menu options : are well displayed
The text comes from the same file language.php (fr)

E- Tiles of column of tables etc. : well displayed

F- Warning messages ?

Everything behaves like the titles and contents even defined as charset=latin1 are dsiplyed as UTF8 while the others are threated well.
Is it a relation with the fact that "modify" action never displays anything because of the query, I will try to understand.

Everything was displayed well in 4.x versions

doc.t.o 12.x: print structure ("Tiki Reference Guide") stops after a two pages only or so.

In any case, the best option for tabs in multiprint is that the __notabs__ option should be automagically implied when doing a multiprint.

Hello, if I search an "entire site" I expect a search in all sections and as result all objects where I have the correct object permission. But this search is implemented with an inconsistent double permission check.

The "entire site" search fist checks the global view permission in each section. If this is true, the search is sent to the search engine of the section, which gives back results depending on the object permission.

As the default search is "entire site" (can be changed via template), all users without the global view permission in the sections get back an empty result-set. A click on the section search button reveals the searchresult depending on the object permission of the section.

This is somehow between a bug and a feature.

As far as I can tell, the solution to show "entire site" search results according to object permissions is very easy.

I uploaded a picture at dev and I move mouse over the drag & drop zone.
It changed into a text field I could type in.

We recently upgraded from Tiki-4.X to Tiki-5.X. We are running Tiki-5.3.

When adding a new tracker item, the dynamic items list is not populated initially. After saving the item, and then going back to edit it, the dynamic items list works fine, even when changing the fieldIdHere.

Steps to recreate:
# Given a tracker 8 with a list of unique items (e.g. fruit) in field 41
** e.g. apple, pear, etc.
# Given a tracker 9 with versions of items in tracker 8
** field 47 item link to tracker 8 field 41
** field 48 item version
*** e.g. gala apple
# Given a tracker 10 with issues about a certain fruit and version
