Tiki 1.9.8 ships with 94 modules. (excellent)


Need a "module manager"

Module should come with a screenshot or preview.

A page listing all modules with descriptions and parameters- grouped by feature.


currently, the "user modules" and "assigned modules" titles are very non-intuitive. Should say "custom modules" and "active modules"




However, all modules are listed at all times. Module listing should check for features which are activated. It would be easier on new Tiki admins. For example, if articles are deactivated, don't show me last_articles in tiki-admin_modules.php



Admin modules does not display titles of available modules or provide easy method for selecting unused modules, such as with a listbox. The missing information is not available unless a Tiki admin has system admin permissions.



Also, all possible parameters for the current module should be listed (or picked from a drop-down)

This appears about every 6-10 actions on my site. __System error. The following error message was returned: MySQL server has gone away Database is not currently up to date! Visit Tiki Installer to resolve this issue.__

Luciash moved my Tiki 3.1 to 4.0 and it started. When he upgraded my account I had maybe 5 pages. I still only have 3 users and maybe 20 pages. There is no rhyme nor reason to what sets it off and it is not just my computer that causes it (tested in both NJ and TN in the US). When I reload the page it is fine. Also, I have my own domain and host. I have upgraded it 11 times now and am simply tired of dickering with it and marclaporte/luciash both said to report it.

Let me add something: I switched hosts and over the past 96 hours I have NOT had an error (yet).

Tiki plugin Tabs have stopped working within templates in 27.3 (but work in 27.2) if the name parameter is set. If name is not specified, tabs appear to work in 27.3 as well.

For example, this does not work anymore within a wiki template:

The actual color used for the display of trackers ("bugs and wishes") is __ugly and make the read difficult__ (red text can't be read, other colors seems hard etc...) __and very tiring.__

To be coherent with the design a very light pink for great surfaces should be welcome.

I can act that, with new version of the dev dev.interface:

- No efficient access to "list yours" (empty list with query error)
- No filter which don't reach "query error"

No more tool efficient to manage the report "bugs ans wish"

I stop till I don't receive a message telling that we can access to :
- filters on messages
- find my own message

What happens ?

{CODE()}~np~ and ~/np~{CODE} are popping almost anywhere in Tiki.
They are visible on pages but also on notifications sent by Tiki.

The tiki has different categories (C1, C2) defined with permissions, so users see only pages with in the categories the user have permission.

User "A" has enabled the notification for any new or changed page. this on has only permissions for C1.

Now user "B" create a new page (P1) with some content, set the checkmark to the categorie C2 and save the page,

As result, user "A" get an notification with the full content of the new page (P1) but because he has no permission for C2 he shouldn't get this.

On Tiki if I disable - can view page/pages (tiki_p_view) anon can’t see the page and therefor see an error they don’t have permissions to see. (this is ok with 18.x and previous version)

On the control panel, General, Navigation, Redirects there is an option :
On permission denied, display login module
or
Send to URL:

I remember I could set a wiki page name or a wiki page url.

Today’s users will have a really hard time to find how to use it with their Tiki.
Admin should be able to set up the page url the way it is displayed today in the url bar.

At dev.t.o, when you save a ticket you landed to a "success" page with a confirmation of the operation with the ticket title that is a link back to the item, essential to check and edit it with additions.

Selecting pages in the 1.9 result in the blank page. It takes several refreshes to get a page to come up. To my knowledge, none of the log files contains any error messages.

Everything was fine while I had 1.8.6 version. After upgrade to 1.9.3.1, I constantly have issues with blank pages and no error messages anywhere. Upgrade 1.9.4 didn't improve anything. It typically takes 2 to 3 refreshes to get the page. For any production site this would be a mission critical problem.

Page: 1/0 happens when listings contain 0 items.

It is a harmless but ugly bug.



Also, while we are playing here, why is it that when:
{if $direct_pagination eq 'y'}
we see the standard pagination (prev/next) AND the direct (1) (2) (3), etc ?


It seems to me if everything fits on a page, no need to have a search (filter option) and no need to have pagination.

The PayPal part of the payments system needs some improvements:

1) The purchase description is a constant value (Shopping Cart), and isn't helpful in reviewing the receipts on PayPal. If you enable payments on an anonymous page, there seems to be no really useful information recorded for the purchase. The description should at least be the first item purchased.

2) PayPal can list all of the items purchased on the receipt, including quantity, by sending the information with the payment request. I'd like to make this optional code.

The problem comes from the fact that into the session->data you can find the HOMEPAGE article "title" which is, in this case (French):

''__s:46:"Page d'accueil spécifique des administrateurs";__''

so the " ' " not escaped generates the crash of the request.


!!Solution ?
!!! Proposal, basis :
When the titles of articles (or any text which can occur into prefs or any query) are stored the " ' " must be escaped into the database.

!!! Proposal for compatibility :
#identify any text which can be used into queries
#be sure that these text have " ' " escaped everywhere, if not
- upgrade database
- upgrade display for these text with escaped " ' "
- upgrade when text is got from forms the data transfer to database with the escaped " ' "
- set a test on syntax queries to catch this error. A simple test of " ' " into query which display error message (because it is impossible to execute a validate successful query).

!!!Note :
Note : Temporarily I have implemented for me a syntax control and a validation test for " ' " into the query which escapes the incongruous " ' " with a warning message. This because with this title the content will not be found... but the query don't answers in a right manner.
To execute completely I have suppressed in my test database the " ' " into the titles. This can't be used in an operational config.

This occurs because I use for test an homepage which depend of the main group of users of the user.
So I have severals homepages managed as articles with a link to categories.

On his homepage a user can in this way find :

# links to secondary homepages depending of his roles into the site

I upgraded one of my subdomains from tikiwiki 3.3 to tikiwiki 4.1. After the upgrade admin can login but with an error message "Permission denied. You cannot view this page."

For other users it seems functioning alright. Only admin can do nothing.

PHP ERRORS and NOTICES first spotted in 2.0 and then 2.1 and still persisting in 2.2.

Reported in the Usability and Architecture Forums but not posted here before. Seems to be repeatable for me - but not sure if anyone else has seen this - could it be the version of PHP I'm using 5.2.6?

The effects are repeatable for upgraded sites and fresh 2.1 sites - have just upgraded the 'fresh' 2.1 test site to 2.2 and its still there. Not yet created a fresh 2.2 site.

The Smarty errors occur when clearing the cache - the Notices of varying type and number occur persistently at most screens - but obviously you need to have Report all errors switched on.

All sites seem to be working OK and not showing any problems in actual performance and behaviour but would like to get to the bottom of this.

The authentication between Tiki and phpBB is no longer working.

This was originally reported for version 14.x - I am experiencing under version 20.x - making an assumption that all the versions inbetween have the same issue.

In terms of reproducing the issue:

* I have followed the steps needed to enable phpBB authentication via Tiki (from https://doc.tiki.org/phpBB-Authentication )
* I created a new user on the phpBB forum
* I was able to log in as the new user on the phpBB forum
* I then tried to log onto Tiki with that user, but I get a blank page (no error messages)
* logging back onto Tiki as admin, I do not see the same username that should have been created (meaning, no additional user has been created in Tiki as result)
* incidentally, I also tried to intentionally change the phpBB database credentials to something wrong, to see if it made any difference during the login process, it did not make any difference

In terms of Importance, it is difficult for me at this stage to appraise this since I am new to Tiki and it appears not many other people have reported this.
However, there are certain features in Tiki's own forum which may present challenges to forum managers (such as the current table structure for forum sections, as well as the inability to be able to sort forums arbitrarily, and lastly the ability to create sub-forums) so a solution such as phpBB would help. So I am classing as 7: it would stop some people to consider adopting Tiki because this feature is no longer working.

* phpBB 3.2.7

When I put a "/" slash at the end of an existing page or a non-existing page, what follows is that the links included in the page no longer point to the root, but take into account the name of the page that precedes the slash. Then all inclusions go through the name of the page.
You can see this in the image below:

lib/smarty_tiki/function.phplayers.php includes in line 53 lib/phplayers_tiki/... which seems not to be part of REL-1-9-5.

Printing pages is sometimes a real mess.
So, http://www.printwhatyoulike.com brings the opportunity to select parts of the page to print etc.

If admin user get lots of php warnings. Eventually page will build. Other warnings depending on various DB requests. Not a cookie problem - deleted cookies. Not browser specific.
