Empty date tracker-field shows data through Mathematical calculation tracker field


An item from our intranet (item65 ) has no value at a date field (trkDeliveryDate). trkDeliveryDate is a date field (date picker) with only date, and no default value set in this preference.

Field trkDeliveryMonth is a Mathematical calculation tracker field, extracting the month from that date field, which should be empty, but it's not, it shows some month (current month, I don't know if by chance or by which means).

When submitting data through a large tracker [[I will try to attach it], the data saves and tracker-view is displayed. I then click the "Insert New Item" tab, and the tracker form displays with the input fields filled in with the previous submission. A work-around is to select the "View Inserted Item" radio button [[located by the "save" button], before submitting the form. "Insert New Item" should always bring up a blank form - IMHO.

Trackers are great in Tiki, it provides a way to build quick and easy register solutions.
When used in any context related to monitoring, it would be nice to have a way to associate a record with one or more events in time. For instance you would like to receive an email at the time the issue related to the task should be controlled and/or be resolved.

Thinking on it as a feature, the following could be considered in the solution:
*It could exist more than one "timer" in the tracker record,
*It should be added like any other tracker field to the record definition,
*It could have different ways to alert: email, rss, ... (maybe only one choice when instance),
*It could have rules, like auto disable when the record is closed (or other condition),
*It could be (as an option) reprogrammed,

and also
*Maybe a user wants to know about all his/her pending "timers".
*Maybe timer implementation could be independent objects that are linked to (special fields in) tracker records (or other objects), so global management is possible.

I guess that a good part of above functionality is already in Tiki in some form.

When codemirror is on and its default mode is set to "Off (but switchable)", the end user expects to see a button available in tracker item textareas (like in dev.t.o/t5 bug tracker).

Codemirror has been set to on (with default theme). If you edit the "Contact_us" page you'll see the content highlighted.
However, no highlighting in the tracker text area field.

Maybe the best option would be to allow the tracker admin to set an option for text areas to include the button to toggle the "highlighter" upon user request (as with text areas in wiki pages).
This way, codemirror could be set to "Disabled but switchable" (default preference in new installs), and each user could decide whether to enalbe highlighting in that text area or not (to prevent side issues in some cases with codemirror on, from happening always in all text areas, etc)

It would be nice to allow a user to select an image from a image gallery of the same tiki site when he/she needs to provide an image for a tracker.


Imagine something like "offers" and "demands" trackers, or hand-made articles, etc. You could assign an image from a gallery as image in that tracker item (like article topic in articles feature nowadays), or insert your own image for that tracker item (as in articles nowadays).

Moreover, Tiki could provide a bunch of pre-defined images in such a gallery from Openclipart.com (public domain licensed in there), to make it easier to staart using images in trackers, or article types, etc.....

Currently (2.2), if you enable the RSS feed for individual Tracker items, Tiki will create a valid RSS feed for __every__ tracker. I would like to have a method, when creating a new tracker, to specify whether or not Tiki should create the RSS feed for that tracker.

I've set up a user field at that tracker, so that we can see when each users decided to join TW Community by selecting that checkbox. And while the compulsory checkbox is not acting as compulsory (due to bug), which users did accept and which ones didn't accept.

I wish to use a smarty template to format the page created through the pluginTracker output-to-wiki feature. I've just noticed that it only accepts wiki pages as templates. I don't know if this a permanent limitation or not. My wish is for TIki to provide the option to use smarty templates as well as wiki templates. pluginTrackerList does this for pretty trackers.

I want to use a smarty template because I want to avoid creating content for optional fields that were left blank in the tracker item. I can do this with {if} statements and isset().

Profile ((pr:Groupmail)) keeps a log of email messages in a tracker.
Mail content seems to show in a textarea field. However the content in there shows html tags, with escaped < and > characters, etc.

What about making Cypht mail reader as an option on text area tracker field?

Using a tracker in the context of a pretty tracker the following problem shows up:
One would like to link from the TRACKERLIST plugin to an item using a specific template to view that item. (So not always the default view or the same template view as defined within the tracker). Also it might not be desired to have access to the item toolbar visible when viewing the item via the tracker menu or via tiki_view_tracker_item.php.

A concret example might be an issue tracker, where customers have a different view to an issue than the support team. The customer

The TRACKERLIST plugin allows to specify an item. However, this template defines how the list is created, not how an specific item is shown when clicking on the item link in the list.

The TRACKERLIST plugin allows also to define a url that is usedd as a link for the items in the list. The pretty tracker documentation gives an example where this link is used to point to a 2nd TRACKERLIST plugin. Because that 2nd list will display only one item, there the template parameter can be used to style the view for that item.

Besides being a bit overloaded, features like comments or attachements are not possible this way.

!!Proposal
If tiki_view_tracker_item.php would allow to pass a view or edit template, than this template could be used similar as if it would have been defined on the trackerlevel.
If the standard toolbar would be disabled and instead a "back" buttom would be added, one could easily click the item on the TRACKERLIST - see the item - and go back. This way also comments and attachments would be accessable. Because the toolbar would be disabled, the user would only access the items through the list defined via plugin TRACKERLIST .

For this to work, two new params needs to be added to tiki_view_tracker_item.php:

The trackerfilter wiki-plugin could be enhenced to show/hide fields only for specified groups of users.

Nowadays, Tracker item rating cannot be seen nor selected if using either ((doc:PluginTracker)) or ((doc:PluginTrackerList)). However, it can be seen (for anons) and voted for registered again, after some recent fixes by Sylvie! (thanks Sylvie :-)

2007-08-13 Xavi: If cache is the problem for this feature request, why not forcing/advising the user to avoid using cache (at least in this page) if he/she wants this tracker field correctly show on the page? (in case this feature is considered interesting enough). I leave to consideration by coders... It was just a suggestion which I would find useful.

Allow users to upload their profile photo avatar at registration time (through the user tracker)

The simplest approach, maybe, could be to allow the site admin to setup a tracker field of type "userPref" to handle the user avatar?

I know avatars are not user preferences (other things aren't but are treated as such for end users for the sake of usability simplicity, afaik)

Cannot demonstrate 9.x on show.tiki.org anymore. Demonstrated 12.x where it seems to be fixed but 9.x is still LTS so should be fixed there too, right ?

When choosing to "edit" an "Item Link" type tracker field, saving will always convert the Item Link type field to a "Relations" tracker field.

The reason for this can be seen - in the "Advanced" part of the edit popup, the only option in the "Field Type" dropdown is "Relations".

I realise that an Item link may just be a kind of relation in the "backend", however the interface for both configuring and using an item link is much better than the relations field, and any paramaters entered in to the item link do not trafer to the new "relations" field.

Some routine to link a tracker to an Image Gallery, making a tracker of every image gallery, adding an item to the tracker for each item in the ig, etc, would seriously enhance the functionality in the image galleries feature. Image Galleries do handle right the image files (tif support would be nice, though). However, it is near to useless to classify the images themselves, the "categories" feature being of very little use, for example, to have a catalogue of paintings with artist's names, titles, dates, etc. Having some linking code written, it would be easy to use the images through the tracker feature, leaving the handling of the image files to the gallery.

I have trackers with the field "Category" and a list of categories for the tracker to be assigned to upon item creation. The item never makes it into the category chosen.
A show instance will be created.

like that: When you modify a tracker item, then its status gets set to your selection. Probably best way to do, would be to just set the desired status in the edit field.

auto-change in status of items after a time frame (specified in the tracker definition) since tracker item creation of last modification date. I.e. After a month, change status from open to pending or closed.

On a field of type ''text'' with options ''multilingual'' and ''autocomplete'', the autocomplete displays the json array of the field which has all languages instead of text strings.

Using 1.10cvs code from mid june 2007

I created several trackers. Enabled RSS for individual trackers. Created rss modules for two individual trackers (rss 1 and rss 2).
Granted common permissions for anon. (view, ...), and most tracker permissions for Registered group.

Added a call to rss plugin within a wiki page:

Did I miss any special perm to be granted for registered? A bug?
