Request passcode to register: fails.

Example 1: (Still broken?) I toggled on "Request passcode to register:" and "Prevent automatic/robot registration:", as well as "user tracker" selected at registration time, and after the registration steps, and filling the user tracker information, I get the message (like): "Register code not valid. You need to know the register code to register in this web site" (approx)

Tried three times with different browsers and users names (and double checking the passcode to register): same effect.

When I toggle off the "Request passcode to register:", then everything works fine.

Example 2:
Request password to enter = on
User tracker (for registration) = on
...initial screen of choose name, enter password and email works.
...second screen with user tracker info fails on submit.

Tested with:
1. Passcode only - Success
2. Passcode & email verification - Success
3. Email verificaton & user tracker - Success
4. Passcode & user tracker - Fail

All I really need is Passcode & user tracker to work together!

I installed a tiki3.3 on a server ( pangea.org ) with no remarkable issues, and the tikis seem to work fine:

However, I attempted to install a spare tiki4.0 for testing on the same server, and I can't install it:

I guess the server doesn't have pdo installed. I added the line in local.php to force tiki to use adodb instead (copied from tw.o forums, message from sylvie). With this change I can bo a bit further, but I cannot finish the installation proces. After the sql are run, I'm sent to the authentication page of tiki-install.php, instead of to the step of locking the installer and proceeding to tiki.

I went to the tiki-index.php then. and i could see it, and changed password for admin. But I can't login after that step neither with admin admin or with new admin pass..

Send notification email to forum moderator when a user posts a message which is queued pending moderation.

To reproduce the environment:

User "admin" is moderating all messages of that forum, but he gets no email nor intratiki message of new forum posts pending moderation.

Users and admin of an installation of Tiki 7.1 with Apache / mySQL / Fedora 14 observe that the timestamp of shoutbox messages sometimes change when they edit the messages.

There's no apparent pattern which would explain when or why only some messages are affected.

Using the supplied .htaccess file, when a non existent file and directory is requested for OThER than .htm files, a 404 is not generated and an unformatted version of the home page is opened. For example see uticacurlingclub.org/junk/junk.htm which generates a normal 404 which is redirected to a custom page, and uticacurlingclub.org/junk/junk.pdb which does not. I suspect this is an issue with .htaccess.

'Activity Rules', with the URL /tiki-managestream-list is an admin page but doesn't have the standard admin interface, side menu, etc. Also, it has no information on its purpose and no links to documentation (https://doc.tiki.org/PluginActivityStream apparently).

Probably when these details are addressed, the Activity Stream feature should be tested to check if it still works ok, etc.

or it's a group/permission issue.

Correction - comments are visible, so 'turned on' (enabled), just permissions for posting (tiki_p_post_comment) may have been changed in the upgrade to Tiki22.

This preference "Display Post new comment form by default" currently does nothing.

Similarly, disabling the preference "Website field" in the comments form does nothing: that field is shown to anon users.

Ping'ing you both @luci and gary in case it's easy to fix for you (maybe bs4 related?). hth

This feature ('jQuery-UI Chosen Select Boxes ') in Control Panels > Features > Interface does not work correctly.
(also checking 'Sortable Chosen Multi-selects ' makes no difference)

I tried three options, but none is acceptable (e.g. usable):
*using a Div + ' jQuery-UI Chosen Select Boxes' results in unusable __''narrow''__ dropdowns (e.g. unreadable)
**using Fancy Table, or, Wiki Tables + 'jQuery-UI Chosen Select Boxes' is not possible because than using 'output', e.g. {$f_44|output} is not possible due to:
***1) Fancy Table using '|' as the separator,
***2) the dropdown box hits the bottom of the Table and stops rendering, e.g. does not drop down below the boundaries of the table
*using any these WITHOUT 'jQuery-UI Chosen Select Boxes' results in a __''super tiny font''__ that makes the dropdown barely usable (font size 4 ot 5)

It seems that the 'TableSorter' feature is interfearing (same code in TrackerList + TableSorter as in Fancy Table)

My guess is this is another Bootstrap issue.

I had my issues with the way the module mod-last_modif_pages.tpl rendered... the title could be hidden by a "decorations=n" which made the link to the addition changes vanish, plus the link in the module title is a little bit of a break with the remaining styling...

Then I discovered that the module uses a table instead of a OL or UL to format, which is a little bit messy itself.

Sometimes we have forum topics with a large number of comments. Let's say the default settings allow to display only the first 20 comments on the first page and provides a "next page" link to the following 20 comments.

But this link doesn't work correctly, there aren't any comments displayed on page 2 (only the initial posting).

I tried this behaviour on the tikiwiki demo page, too ... it's the same bug in the demo.

How can I correct this?

When I access the 'Show Instance' I created (http://mikeua-11714-6595.show.tikiwiki.org/) for a bug I filed (https://dev.tiki.org/item6595-New-visual-menu-not-working-properly) it says:

"Lost Tiki database connection
Sorry but there seems to be a problem connecting to the system's database
This may only be a temporary problem, so please wait a while and click

final update: why, WHY in the world would ANYONE use the word 'row' as an option in Tracker List under 'show links'???????????? After two days of pulling out my hair, it turns out that in order to turn OFF the links ('Title') on a Tracker list in Tiki 15, you have to choose 'row'. WHO created this? Why? What is the logic behind this? I see absolutely NONE. No explanation on https://doc.tiki.org/PluginTrackerList On the Show Instance, I chose 'no' and it works normally, so why would my live site not be able to use 'no' to not show links?


update: I create a show instance (admin / 54321) and all worked correctly as it should, so it seems my parameters need to be checked)

'Show Links' does not work - I have it set to 'no' and it still shows the links:

I also left it blank (default is to not show links), same thing, shows the links.

I apply this to the auto numbering field (most companies have 'work order' numbers, 'Invoice' numbers, etc.), as it makes the most sense for users to click directly on this number for viewing/editing.

This worked in Tiki 12x but does not work in 15x (the only two possible installs via Softaculous).

As an added safety measure I also have permissions on this particular tracker for this particular group set so that this group cannot change closed tracker items, i.e.'tiki_p_modify_tracker_items_closed' is not checked, yet they can. This is not good, as this user group should only be able to change open/pending items, not closed. And, not only can they change items, but it goes directly to the tracker where they can change anything (vs. wiki pages, to which I limit user to on open/pending items).

update: this has something to do with 'view = user' parameter, as on other pages (general reports) where this is not applied (i.e. shows all entries), clicking the link leads to the item in the tracker but for viewing only (as it should be). So it seems the 'view = user' status gives some special, over riding permissions (over page permissions, tracker permissions, etc.) which is not applicable in all cases (i.e. for closed items in 'archives')

The "Toggle sections" icon on tiki-objectpermissions.php, which is used to show or hide the feature section columns, isn't working in master currently. I checked in my local master and at https://trunkthemes.tiki.org/tiki-objectpermissions.php. Clicking the icon just causes a spinning loading icon.

The page name of the "View Articles" automatic page doesn't translate (tiki-view_articles.php), while "List Articles" does (tiki-list_articles.php).

This leads to a mixture of English and target language in the browser history, and possibly in bookmarks/favorites. The page name, as displayed by the browser "View Articles" should be fed through tra(), IMHO.

"Create H5P" action in File Gallery no longer works in the newly released tiki17.0

I performed an SVN 17.1 on my instance and the issue was not resolved.

A show instance is created, and the error persist in the show.

I went to http://demo.tiki.org/12x/tiki-install.php to proceed to a test of the installer (for an upgrade, not fresh install) and I saw: "Database `d01863d1` was created" which doesn't make sense with ''Tiki found an existing database connection in your local.php file. Database name: "d01863d1"''

First, the simple problem: the module visibility preference "Display on device" doesn't seem to work. I tested setting a module to "Desktop" only and "Print" only and it still displayed on my laptop.

Second, I think the thinking behind this is faulty. I don't understand why a site administrator would want a module to only display to people using a desktop PC and not to laptop users. I'm joking there because I assume the thinking wasn't really about the device but about the display resolution. was that "desktop" means larger displays and laptop means displays smaller than larger ones, or some breakdown like that. But this doesn't really work. My laptop's recommended resolution is 2560 x 1440, which is more than a lot of desktop displays. Similarly there is a lot of overlap between Mobile (phones) and Tablet resolutions. And again, there is no logic, as far as I know, to differentiate between these in regard to module display except on the basis of screen size/resolution.

Maybe user agent strings could be used to control module display, as listed on https://deviceatlas.com/blog/list-of-user-agent-strings for example, but even here there is no distinction between desktop and laptop, and I don't know what the rationale would be for controlling this way other than related to display size.

I don't know what the method was for the Tiki site to identify what type of device was being used but I suggest the module option be changed to explicitly target screen sizes, which would use the standard practice of media queries and would also make sense from the admin point of view. Actually this would just put a gui on top of the Bootstrap display classes (https://getbootstrap.com/docs/5.3/utilities/display/#hiding-elements, https://getbootstrap.com/docs/5.3/utilities/display/#display-in-print), so should be an easy fix. Instead of listing Mobile, Tablet, Laptop, Desktop, and Print, the dropdown could list "Hidden on all, Hidden only on xs, Hidden only on sm, Hidden only on md, Hidden only on lg, Hidden only on xl, Hidden only on xxl, Visible on all, Visible only on xs, Visible only on sm, Visible only on md, Visible only on lg, Visible only on xl, and Visible only on xxl".

This is a longer list but corresponds to reality. A help block can give info about what the sizes mean. Similarly, there are Bootstrap classes for print display that can be incorporated into this. (In that connection, maybe there is no need for the Tiki-specific "display_on_print" class that seems to be redundant because of these Bootstrap classes.)

I suggest fixing this quickly or removing it and starting fresh because IMO it could give to new Tiki site admins the impression that we don't know what we're doing.

The text 'Apply Profile "Simple Wiki Attributes" To Add FutureLink Questions' displays under the wiki page-bar and "Create PastLink" appears in the upper left corner of the screen, but there's explanation of this and no clear way to turn this feature off. I can't find any information or controls for FutureUI in the admin pages. I'm reporting this as a bug until the control is clarified.

About the "button" itself, it displays as plain text (needs class="btn" at least to display as a (long) button) and seems intrusive to me, like advertising. For a better display, I suggest having a short button label and putting this longer text into a tooltip (Purpose: "Inject FutureLink UI components into Wiki editing screens. Managed page's saved attributes per FutureLink UI interaction. Generates and presents FutureLink text string to user.") Not sure about this purpose but it definitely needs to be optional and have documentation.

2. to login with temp password (this link is missing http://)

On fresh install of 19.x the form on -+tiki-remind_password.php+- page is really ugly first impression.

Please use Bootstrap4 form classes to fix the tpl file to make it look nice.

This module lists users with links, but the link is missing the user ID. It goes to tiki-user_information.php?userId= instead of tiki-user_information.php?userId=1

__Update:__ Appears that it happens when user information is private or the user preferences feature is not enabled. Looks fixed in 12.x because it doesn't show the link there but just the user name in plain text instead.

When I try to save some configuration page or some change in a wiki page this error:
"No route found. Please see http://dev.tiki.org/URL+Rewriting+Revamp"
is triggered.
For example, if I have a wiki page with three external links and I put another one, then the error is triggered.
I have seen than the erros comes from "route.php" file.
I have rename the file _htaccess to .htaccess.
I have verified that this error appears when I work from the web server, but it does not appear if I work on a local apache server (wamp).

At any list of pages, tiki-listpages.php for example, after checking some sites and choosing "Remove" at the checkbox "Perform action with selected:" i get redirected to a new site with a list of sites i have checked and a big button saying "Click here to confirm your action".
After clicking that button i again get redirected to to list but the pages have not been removed.

This bug was tested on 2 different wikis running on XAMPP on a W2K3-machine.
