At tiki-user_preferences.php#contentmytiki_user_preference-4, Security user should setup 2FA authentication. This is not a simple thing and there should be a tooltip to link with Tiki documentation: https://doc.tiki.org/Two-factor-authentication

When setting preferences in each of the modules that Tiki supports, it would be of HUGE benefit and assistance to be able to click on a HELP ICON and get comments on what the setting or preference means and whether this should be used by you.

Tested in v3.1 on XP/IEv6, Vista/IEv7, Vista/Firefox. The help button (blue circle w/ question mark) next to "Advanced Search" in the module search_box does not bring up any help info. Instead, it points to the anchor #advanced_search_help on whatever page the user is viewing, but the anchor doesn't exist. IE shows an "Error on page" in the browser status bar.

Tested in XP/IEv6 with "Floating Help" UI feature on - same result. Unknown if "Floating Help" changes results in IEv7 or FF.

All over Tiki, there are contextual links the relevant page on http://doc.tikiwiki.org/Keywords

This is pretty good for end users because they get access to info about the feature and the opportunity to improve it.

Now, it would be good for Tiki admins to see links to http://dev.tikiwiki.org/Keywords as well so they know what bugs have been reported and they get the opportunity to learn, share and participate.

There is (presumably) an error in the help system, which I found while editing the help of Spreadsheet, but I guess this help text, since it describes basic Tiki syntax, gets displayed on numerous occasions.

tiki-edit_help.tpl has this on line 55:

I assume both options are to be written with double exclamation marks, and not only the negative?

The full text search module should provide means to determine what operators work with it. Perhaps a large tooltip or a link to an "advanced search" page. Syntax for the module is [http://tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=FullTextSearch|here.]

Help System is not listed as a feature for Tiki Tracks. Is it the same as WebHelp? If so, then one or the other should be renamed for consistency

The "Help System" link on Admin::General points to non-helpful swamp on doc.tw.o

If the user didn't change the value of the destination of the help system, it should be updated to what the default value is now.

Need to hunt down what all the previous values were (ex.: http://doc.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=) and to update via sql

And for clean installs as well (of course)

However, if someone modified the default value, we don't touch.


Reminder to add a reset to default value in 3.0 (new admin panel should permit this)

The URL's for the help buttons are not being built correctly. Users are unable to get help during the initial setup.

Tested on 1.10.0b1. To reproduce:
After a fresh install go to the Administration:Administration page
Click on the General icon.
Click on the help icon at the top of Administration General
The help URL will use the local host name instead of doc.tikiwiki.org

Other notes:
Help shows enabled on the features page (apparently enabled by default)
All pages reached through tiki-admin.php seem to have this problem

On a Tiki24x.

If you use a plugin (like mediaplayer) that require PDF.js but __it is not enable__ this what you see:

PDF.js feature is disabled. If you do not have permission to enable, ask the site administrator.

If you enter the control panels (as admin) and search for "PDF.js" or "PDF" there is no result.

The error/warning message should tell the user/admin exactly what to do.

But on this Tiki the package : npm-asset/pdfjs-dist-viewer-min 2.12.313 is already installed.

I refreshed caches, checked permissions.
I also installed the package mPDF (may be ?)
I enabled "PDF from URL (mPDF)" at tiki-admin.php?page=print

Still something is missing somewhere...

This tracker item could not be found

When editing a Wiki-page and clicking on Wiki-Help there is a link to change the Help to Plugin-Help.

This link doesn't appear when editing forum or trackers..

There is broken link from that icon leading to http://doc.tiki.org/Using%20Wiki%20Pages%23List_Pages which says "Error: Page not found".

Instead it should link to http://doc.tiki.org/Using%20Wiki%20Pages#Listing_Pages

Go to tiki-searchresults.php page.
Click to SearchHelp link and check format of the bold texts.

Some text are without spaces before and after bold text.
Why?

Tried with default theme.

a) I spent weeks testing these features one by one.

It will save time if all these features are enabled and complete with samples.

This is the approach used by Joomla and Mambo.

It also helps us learn faster.


b) The assist module is useful but asking users to read a tedious configuration as the first step will eat up too much time.

Site configuration or Look at Feel should be the first one.

It is also the most dangerous but essential.

c) Provide a clue, in the assist if possilbe, to replace a damaged header.tpl with a skeleton header.tpl

tiki-admin.php & Wizards: mouse-over the information, warning, help icons doesn't show the expected content but the label again

Just try the same thing in a 12.x to compare:
