Hi @Mike Finko
In a way i'm glad you're not using the existing cart features in Tiki because they're impossible to get working (i found the same) so it's another vote for what we're doing now to replace the current setup, rather than have to (optionally) add to it. I hope you'll be able to test when it's ready and i'll try and accommodate any additional features needed if possible.
Zen Cart was once added to Tiki, but it was very fragile and the "integration" broke after a couple of releases on each side.
A shopping site is basically just a few database tables (which Tiki can do very well with Trackers), along with user registration and management (which we have) and a payment gateway, which is the main part we need to fix i think, so trying to "blend in" and existing stand-alone shopping solution would not be a good fit in my opinion, and i think we have 80% of what we need already in place. So fixing the "Advanced Shopping Cart" feature should give us the quickest and best win, hopefully!
Thanks for your interest, will try to keep you up to date on progress!
"So please add any features or questions there if you have any." - Jonny (from email on Dev list.)
Shopping Cart was one of the 'main' features that attracted me to Tiki in 2012, unfortunately, no matter how many times I tried (last time in mid 2020) I could never get it fully working.
I would recommend the Chinese strategy (to reduce time to production and have a clear goals) - at first, just copy 99% of OpenCart, PrestaShop or ZenCart (all seem to be successful) then, some 'window dressing' can be done to diverge once a good 'working' version is created. There is no shame is 'reverse-engineering'.

Mike
