This is an emerging concept in Tiki. It is used for currency exchange rates and will be progressively expanded. See System Trackers.

The same concept is applied to the advanced shopping cart (experimental)

In Tiki, there is an admin menu which is #42. This has data with all the menu items needed for internal use and data is managed as part of the Tiki code base. And each site can fork this menu and customize it.

We are thinking of doing the same thing for

  • Trackers
  • Calendars
  • Wiki pages
  • What else?

Like hard-coded in the Tiki source code. It would help for Maintainability of advanced configurations of features
