Hi!
I could make use of direct file mapping mode for wiki page attachments. In such a way that you could reference attached files (images, for instance) by name, from within the same page. It should also be possible to reference the attachments of other pages, like it is now, with the global attachment ID.
Aren't the attachments of a page a special case of a file gallery? Say, a file gallery with the same name as the page? Maybe one could implement them as special file galleries, in Tiki, too.
Nextcloud has file history whilst using direct file mapping.
Why not have a look how they do this.
Another idea I want to add is an option to ad a functionality to use external storage and use nextcloud to extent file galleries.
Possible problem might be file IDs which we need in Tiki, but this might be resolvable with a mapping when we would integrate it anyway.
Just thinking on Nextcloud, cause in the projects I am involved with it is quite common to use Nextcloud independantly of which CMS is used for the website and wether they use Tiki or not. I see Nextcloud besides Tiki as a common use case and wished to have some sort of integration since long time ... especially SSO.
Actually my wish to get SSO to Tiki is based mostly on this use case and users and desicion makers I know are very open to use Nextcloud whilst often stubbornly refuse to even consider to use Tiki.
So an integration of Tiki and Nextcloud could help a lot to tear down that wall.
