Mods is code that is not distributed with the main Tiki. You need to install separately. See mods.tikiwiki.org Type of page »  Feature page

Mods

Mods are barely used anymore. No one has volunteered to maintain the feature. The only use is PluginR and for themes. With the upcoming move to Bootstrap, the only remaining active use will be PluginR. Starting in Tiki13, can we find another way to distribute it (ex.:profiles or Composer), or fix license issues and add to the core like all the others?

Feature request for mods installer

  • Usually, modular systems have a *forge approach where each extension/module/plugin can have a mini community. There is currently no way to provide feedback/ratings on mods. No way for people to know what works and what doesn't. Mods.tiki.org should be a community site, where people can report bugs, document, rate mods, etc
  • Mods which are dead code should be distinguished from mods for other reasons To Mods or not to Mods
  • Mods do not handle version compatibility (this mods is for version 1.9.x, this for 2.x, this for 3.x)
  • There is no help / documentation for manual install of mods in case installer fails.
  • There are command line instructions to run in online help, which is no good for FTP users.

  • improve mods installer to be a suitable distribution mechanism for language files and themes
  • How to deal with?

Keywords

The following is a list of keywords that should serve as hubs for navigation within the Tiki development and should correspond to documentation keywords.

Each feature in Tiki has a wiki page which regroups all the bugs, requests for enhancements, etc. It is somewhat a form of wiki-based project management. You can also express your interest in a feature by adding it to your profile. You can also try out the Dynamic filter.
