When entering the backslash character twice in a Dynamic Variable's content, e.g. \\servername\share, Dynamic Variables act unpredictably:
DV name | Stored Text | Editable Displayed Text | Non-editable Displayed Text | Stored Text after saving ANY DV on the page. |
%dv1% | \\\\server1\share | \\server1\share | \\\\server1\share | \\server1\share |
%dv1% | \\\\server2\\share | \\server1\share | \\\\server1\\share | \\server2\share |

Fixed with commit 56595 for Tiki 14.1 and backported to Tiki12.5
For previous versions, a possible workaround (at least when using share names ;) is to use the front slash character, but obviously this isn't a one-size fits all workaround.
